Hello all,

Anyone who has applied to el centro nursing program for spring 08...has anyone gotten an acceptance letter yet???

Let me know what info you have...thanks

Kristina,

Just an FYI - under normal circumstances, they won't give out admission info on the phone. They'll make you go down there. It may be different with the late admission process, but I doubt it. You could just make a trip to the new building and find her :)

Good luck!

I was at el centro today to have my last hep shot and the door of the health office said...it is permanently closed and under no circumstance is anyone to go to the new building. So I guess anybody wanting to speak with someone is just out of luck. Does anybody know when we are suppose to go to class? We don't start clinicals yet, are we suppose to go down town the time of our clinical?

I know - I took a chance and went down to El Centro today and saw the sign on the Health Occupations door about the office being closed and that under no circumstances was anyone allowed to go to the new building. So, being the stubborn individual I am, of course I walked over there but didn't get far! They are WAY behind on having the new building ready and it will be amazing if it is up and ready to go by Monday. Apparently no students are allowed over there because they do not have the certificate of occupancy yet and it is a liability issue. I went back over to the main building and found a Health & Legal Studies table set up in the student center. I asked if there was any possible way to contact anyone to find out whether an email acceptance was sent to me for the program. I was told that Kanora had been out both yesterday and today and that there was no one I would be able to contact to find out if (by chance) I had gotten in. So, no answers and no one at all to help me. At this point, I think it is safe to assume that I did not get accepted and that I will need to try again for the Fall semester. Everything happens for a reason, right? I just wish I knew an answer definitely. Congrats to those that got in! I'd love to know what the lowest GPA was for those accepted and how many slots were open. Best of luck to all!

Stephanie,

You should have received an email (generated through e-campus) from*******with the schedule for Lab (clinicals) next week. Look at the schedule for your section. There should be two Lab days and a lecture day on the schedule.

Does anyone know WHERE we are to meet? If the new building is not ready, guess we will find out on Monday??

Congrats to all those who got in!

Christian

I never heard anything, no email etc about my status. I have assumed that I did not get in the program. I have registered for a full load A&PII, Micro, and Speech. That will finish off my classes.

So how many spots were open?

Billie

I got the email yesterday also. Thanks. I don't know where we are suppose to be meeting at though.

I am really getting scared about starting, I have been enjoying the time off and I am not ready to get back into all the books!

There were 13 slots available and a total of 54 late applicants. Of those 13, there were 3 slots open at El Centro and 10 slots at Northlake. The clinical selection is based on the GPA and not the "lottery" as previously done. Emails should be sent out today on the awarded clinical sites. Good luck to everyone.

Well my wife "4mylife" has gotten her email with the results. She got Presbyterian with Tunnell on F 6:45am - 5:15pm. Lecture is with Johnston on W 9am-2:30pm. These were her first choices and really happy for her to get accepted into the Northlake Nursing Program. These last few days have been expensive/hectic to get things ready before school starts but it was definitely worth it. Wish everone the best.

Billie, may I ask who you are taking for Micro and A&P II? I have **** for A&P II and ******** for Micro.

We received an e-mail on Friday from Ms. ****** clarifying that lecture time is actually 8 am -1:30 pm. If you look at your receipt from eConnect, you'll see it there as well. We were misinformed during orientation. Just thought I'd let you know even though it's only an hour difference.

Congrats!

Did ****** send you an email directly? Wonder why I didn't get one? Great to know. I was going to show up at 8:00 anyway and wait til 9:00 is that was the case but I'm glad I know for sure now. At class, you'll need to point yourself out so that we can formally meet. I don't think many students use this site too much. Again, thanks for the update! Nanc

I think it was generated through the roster on e-campus. Maybe you hadn't been added to the class yet? I started wondering about the lecture time when I paid for my class. During orientation, they had told us 9-2:30 but the receipt showed 8-1:30. I'm c and p'ing the e-mail below. Also, I'm not sure if this includes your clinical group, but 3 of the clinical groups are meeting tomorrow @ 8am-12pm @ NLC. I found this out on Fri. 1/11. Go fig. I'd hate for you to show up tomorrow if it isn't for your clinical section, but if you're free I guess it couldn't hurt anything? The e-mail doesn't specify which one of her sections is the one meeting tomorrow. Check e-campus and see if they have your class loaded yet.

Need to clarify the lecture time. Our class meets from 800-1:30 on Wednesday in T-107. Three clinical groups will meet on Monday at 0800: one of Ms. ******** groups, Ms. *******'s group and my group. Just check the board outside of T107 for your room assignment. See you next week.
