Future Spring 08 El Centro Students-Acceptance Letters????

Published

Hello all,

Anyone who has applied to el centro nursing program for spring 08...has anyone gotten an acceptance letter yet???

Let me know what info you have...thanks

my e-mail attempts have been unsuccessful/unanswered as usual. (2 weeks and still waiting for a response). I did get her e-mail yesterday about starting the background chk and the drug test date. I'm thinking that the shoes should be fine, if not, I'll try to come up with a back up plan between now and then.

As far as the health insurance goes, it's in the application packet I know for sure. It just states that ....

12. Many hospital clinical sites require nursing students to provide documentation of personal healthcare insurance. Therefore, prospective students are advised to secure their own coverage. Information on college student policies and rates can be found at https://www1.dcccd.edu/cat0608/ss/sd/insurance.cfm.

I've been shopping around for insurance plans since I no longer work full time and no longer qualify for insurance through them and haven't been too successful. COBRA is absolutely outrageous and I'm running out of ideas. Just wanted to check and see if anyone else was having any luck. I don't qualify for my parents insurance due to age and I'm single so I don't have a spouse's plan to hop on. Now that I re-read what it states, it seems as though it isn't mandatory. I guess I'll be making a trip up to ECC when the campus opens....grrrrrrr.:angryfire

I have applied late for the Spring Nursing Program. I will hopefully will hear something next week. I did not think they were working this week.

Does anyone know how many spots are open? I am so nervous just waiting to hear.

Billie

Best of luck to you Billie! I will be @ NLC and if I remember correctly there were 4 or 5 open slots on the clinical sign-up list that we were told were reserved for late applicants. I'm not sure how many they have available for the ECC class.

Just to let you know, I will be entering my fourth semester and I have never been asked for proof of health insurance, although I remember them also mentioning this to us first semester. Come to think of it, I don't know anyone who has been asked to provide this. I also know if you join the SNA they have info about an inexpensive health insurance plans. I wouldn't let this concern you too much.;)

Specializes in ER.

I've never been asked about health insurance either - I'm entering 3rd semester. Congratulations to all who are starting out in Spring! Someone said they got Marshall?? What hospital?

Yang

Thank you Yang and momuv for your answers. One more thing to cross off my list (at least for now). yip-ee!

I'm not sure who got Marshall. I have Darensburg @ the VA, Tu 7-7.

Hello,

Well I called Karona today and she said they have not made any final decisions for Late Apps into Spring. She did say that since they did not get an overabundant of applications that she will be sending out emails.

Now I will live on my email till I hear. Can everybody hear my fingers drumming and feet tapping. I am waiting patiently.lol

Billie

awww, that sucks. they are really putting y'all through the wringer on the late apps. i know that it's easier said than done, but try to relax (at least a little). ;)

My wife also submitted her package during the late application period. She has been checking her email a few times a day...

Billie...what was your GPA for the pre-requisites?

My GPA was 3.4 on the. Plus I have 9 supporting hours completed. It is not as high as I would like it, but I am not going to repeat classes. If it came down to it, I would apply to Brookhaven, that does not base entrance on GPA. I did very well on the HESI exam.

Thanks

Before I had posted the above info, I should have read back through. I am very sorry for the grammatical mistakes.

I am still waiting to hear. I hope I hear before the weekend. I am so nervous, just wondering and waiting. School starts back in 10days. We would have to register, buy our books, orientation etc.

Billie

My wife has a 3.86 average. She has had to repeat a class or two to better her grade. She also has all of her support classes completed except Micro. She is hoping to get a slot into Northlake since its less than 5 miles to school. I sure wish they would hurry up and make a decision. It doesnt leave much time to get everything all squared away before school starts.
