Future Spring 08 El Centro Students-Acceptance Letters????

Published

Hello all,

Anyone who has applied to el centro nursing program for spring 08...has anyone gotten an acceptance letter yet???

Let me know what info you have...thanks

Well the HPRS I think was the main kicker. In my section alone 15 people dropped. We were supposed to have all tests done by Nov 27th. Alot of people did not do it. We will have a lot of students fail.

I am curious how many openings they have. I took my HESI test yesterday and passed with flying colors. Yipee. I will have my physical completed next week, and will finish my last class Dec 10th ready to apply in late application for Spring.

I wish I could help but I got Lewisville. What hospital did everybody get?

Does anybody know anything about the instructor Marshall (don't know the first name)...?

I got the VA hospital on Tuesday with Galloway.

Please Help... I Need To Know If Any Of The Spring 2008 Nursing Class At El Centro Would Like To Switch There Clinical Location... My Friend Has Presby Wed And Thurs From 6:45 To 3:15. She Is Looking For Someone That Has Las Colinas Hospital. If Interested, Please Email Me So I Can Give You Her #.

Maddy, just a suggestion: if your friend has McCarty for an instructor at Presby, I would strongly encourage her to keep him. I've read nothing but excellent things about him. They say to pick the instructor, not the location for clinicals.

I found out yesterday that El Centro and Northlake will be accepting late applications into the Spring 2008 semester for Nursing. Anybody else going to apply? I will complete this semester then drop off my application by Dec 20th.

Kanora told my info session group back that this is the first time in 5 years that they opened it up to late applications...I'm praying there will be late applications taken for Fall '08!!!!!!

Good luck with Galloway! People either love her or they hate her! I personally wasn't that fond of her but I wouldn't say I hated her.

Good luck everyone starting in Spring '08! I'm about to graduate from ECC in 7 days and I am always available for any questions you may have. I am so proud of you all! Remain strong and believe everything they're doing is for our own good! That's why we have such a high NCLEX pass rate. Trust me- hospitals will immediately offer you a position with ECC on your resume. I had to narrow places down and make a decision and so did several of my other friends! They prepare us well and the hospitals know that! There are a lot of people who have ill feelings about ECC so don't hang around those people :lol2:

A great NCLEX book is Saunders Comprehensive NCLEX Review. Also the HESI book is a great buy because it narrows everything down. If anyone needs a labcoat (size 8) or scrub tops (1 small and 1 large- I gained a little poundage throughout my time at ECC LOL)- I will give them to you. I think I have another labcoat that's a size 10 or 12 but I never wore it. They're just sitting in my closet so if you haven't ordered them yet- message me.

I wish all of you the best of luck! It IS possible to go through every semester without repeating! It IS possible to end this program with a smile and pride! ECC has its issues but so does every other program- remember that.

I dropped off my application for Spring Reg. I hope I get in. In the information session they said they would contact by phone on Dec 21st. But today they said it would be after the New Year. So I am sitting on pins and needles, waiting.

Did you submit yor informatuon during the late application period or during the reg app. period?

I just did it today. Today is the last day to apply for late application for Spring.

Billie

Ok, I am in a similar situation. I would like to apply for fall 08 but it would have to be during the late app period and I would like to know how good my chances would be.

Thanks

I PROMISE that I was paying attention during orientation but I can't seem to read my notes. I was going through 'sticker-shock' and hallucinations :uhoh3: at the time from the rising costs of 1st semester (still super excited though, don't get me wrong). Anyhoo, I know our shoes have to be all black and leather, but do they have to have laces too? I found some uber-comfy slip-ons/clogs (they DO have a back to them) and was wondering if they would work. Does anyone remember? Also, has anyone had any luck securing individual health insurance?

I don't think she really clarified that, maybe you could email her. What about the health insurance? I guess I must have missed that.
