Yeah, I was surprised by the GPA also.

El Centro veterans.....we have our orientation Nov. 28. Who are the best instructors and the best hospitals? I get intimidated easily (I know that is their job) are there any nice minimally intimidating instructors?? Thanks.

Fall 07 was ECC 4.0, NLC 4.0.....even 4.0 students got denied!

Fall 06 was ECC 4.0, NLC 3.77.

Spring 07 was 4.0, 4.0, too. I made it in off the wait-list with my 4.0 and 9 support hours.

Who knew that changing a test would have such an impact?

Wow, I'm glad I found this thread. Congrats to all. I rec'd my letter and will be starting at NorthLake in January! So far so good except for that stupid LASSI module issue. I'm STILL waiting on Kanora to call/e-mail me back. Grrr.

Congrats Chickpea, I guess ur not the only one confused on the Lassi. Are you having problems with the Lassi, I did it already but Iam a bit confused. When i tried to do a module for anxiety it woulnt let me it said something about a sample. Do you know anything about that?

I was able to do the initial test but when I went to the modules for the sections that I scored less than 70% on, the website kept giving me an error message saying that the school code had exceeded the amount of time. I FINALLY got in touch with Kanora this morning. She said as long as you did the test and printed out your scores you'll be fine. They are working on getting the situation resolved.

Whew! I was getting a little scared there for a minute. The modules were supposed to be completed by this Fri (11/16). i've heard from other people that they take forever to complete.

Congrats to all the new nursing students!

Just thought I would offer some pointers...

Make sure you buy a good drug book, you will need it for clinicals. There is not enough info in the Pharmocology textbook.

Make sure you buy a good Nursing Care Plan book, which will make care plans a lot easier for you.

Buy some NCLEX review books so you can practice questions before the tests. They help a lot! You can buy them used from Amazon or Half Price Books. These tests are not like regular tests, you have to know the material and be able to apply it in medical situations. THis is where the question books come in.

I found out yesterday that El Centro and Northlake will be accepting late applications into the Spring 2008 semester for Nursing. Anybody else going to apply? I will complete this semester then drop off my application by Dec 20th.

Talked to Kanora today on another matter but what Billie says above is true - they are going to LATE APPLICATIONS for Spring 08. That almost never happens! The HESI and HRPS really kicked it.
