FSW Fall 2019

U.S.A. Florida

Published

Hi everyone! Just wanted to get a topic started on FSW's Fall 2019 cycle. The application deadline is May 15th. Here are my stats:

When this spring semester ends, I will have taken 8 out of the 9 pre-reqs. (3.62 GPA) I plan on taking A & P II in the summer. I am also taking the TEAS for the first time in May. I am a little stressed that I'm cutting it too close to the deadline and taking the TEAS without A & P II. My #1 choice is Collier ANEW, #2 is Lee ANEW.

Anybody else out there applying for Fall?

Where can the FSW nursing polo shirt be purchased? I can't find it on the bookstore website.

You need to go to the bookstore. I had to pre-order mine because they didn't have my size..

Hi guys!

Did anyone purchased the books already? I am coming back from the bookstore and the total came up to $1600. Where are you guys getting the books from? Any other options than bookstore?

I’m not sure what campus you’ll be attending but the Punta Gorda bookstore doesn’t have a wide selection of the nursing polos so I called the Lee campus bookstore and was able to get the correct size shipped to Punta Gorda for pickup.

Sounds about right. I believe the only place you can get the textbooks is online, right? It’s an access code? I saw it from the publisher for $999. Then about $500 for the ATI access. Did you buy the books from the bookstore? Are they actual books or digital?

Hey! Does anyone know if the lab coats are a requirement or just optional? I work at a hospital that hosts FSW nursing students and they’re never wearing lab coats. I’m always hot and the thought of spending extra money to wear another layer with long sleeves seems awful to me if I don’t have to! lol

Lab coats are optional.

Is Hepatitus A vaccine required?

Everything that is required is listed in CastleBranch.

Thanks ! Reason I asked is cause it isn’t on castle branch but it’s on the health form that needs to be filled out/signed by our doc.

Has anyone registered for the classes yet. I know they said to wait until the major changed, then to do. Anyone major change yet?

I cant even get to that point, but know someone that has already registered. Where can you see your major anyway?

In the portal. Go to student profile and it should be there.

Thanks. They will change the major for us correct.

I was able to register for classes this past Monday, July 8th. I saw my major and advisor had been changed in the student portal so I tried it and it worked!
