Hi All,
I wanted to start a thread for the students applying to FSU in Spring 2012. I graduated from FSU in 2006 and am hoping to go back! Good luck everyone!
I emailed the director last night after finding out that I didn't get in and asked her if she could tell me why, so I could prepare and do my best to get in 2013 and she told me that her and her staff had nothing to do with deciding on who got in or not. It was strictly the dean and a few others in the nursing school. I was kind of bummed as that didn't give me anything to help me know what I needed to work on to do better. Oh well. I am going to apply to a few other schools as I can't wait around for another year and the same thing happen to me again. That would be a waste of my time;(
Chesca- I am so sorry to hear that you didn't get in either;0( When do you find out about the other programs?
Thanks! I don't find out for the other programs until feb or so. I am aiming fr USF and UM bc they have a bit more personal touch to it and they shouldn't base everything on grade which I don't have bad grades 3.8 in the sciences and 3.4 overall for my bio degree which isn't bad for pre med classes do we will see. Congrats to all. Everything happens for a reason
DLuxe, on average how many hours per week are you (and other students) committing to the FSU ABSN program? Thanks!
It depends on the semester and how much time you spend studying. You can expect to be lecture or lab atleast 4-5 hrs a day and then when you start clinicals (summer) that is two eight hour days with lecture the rest of the week. It is full time between being on campus and time spent reading or studying. And you are constantly studying for something when you have four credit classes that only last six weeks!
It really depends on the person how much time they spend outside of class but I am probably a low to medium studier and I easily spent 50+ hours a week doing school stuff.
I e-mailed the CON earlier about when an orientation will be held. I assumed it would be sometime in November or December but I was told it will not be until January 3rd. Our agendas will be sent to us by mid November. I was hoping an orientation would be earlier so i could meet other students and hopefully find a few who were looking for roomates.
Has anyone else started looking into housing options? Roomates are always good for financial reasons but it would also be nice since we will be on such a tight and concentrated schedule. Just seeing what other's ideas are...
