FSU Accelerated Spring 2012 hopefuls!

Hi All,

I wanted to start a thread for the students applying to FSU in Spring 2012. I graduated from FSU in 2006 and am hoping to go back! Good luck everyone!:yeah:

fsuandrea- I didn't apply to anywhere else yet b/c I live in Santa Rosa Beach there aren't a whole lot of options. FSU would have been perfect as I could go home on the weekends to see my hubby and girls. If I go anywhere else I will have to move and it just won't be super practical. I am thinking about applying to UAB for next fall only b/c my aunt is a nurse and professor in the master nursing program and they accept 150-200 students. It is out of state, but I could move in with her and maybe claim residency, but I just don't know. I am still in a funk today seeing that I didn't get in. I thought for sure I would and being an alumni I thought that would be a perk, but I guess not..lol!! Oh well, guess I will let it sink in more before I make my next move;0)

haha i see what you mean.. I live in SRB also, and applied to GCSC ADN.. I simply can't afford to move away from here on my own, I currently live with a roomie but paying out of state tuition would be too hard!

OH too funny!! Have you heard from that program yet? I should have applied there, but I know its too late now! I had the nicest guy from there call me several times b/c I had shown interest in the program once before and he was calling to tell me what I needed to get in to be able to possibly be accepted, but I never got a chance to call him back as I was sure I would get into FSU...wishful thinking didn't get me too far!!

This is so nerve racking. FSU is my first choice but I am also applying to 4 other accelerated Programs in Florida. So I guess I must wait. The problem is I don't know who I am competing with so we shall see. Good luck on your future

I haven't heard anything yet. Hopefully I find out soon! This is nerve wrecking! Sorry to hear bjbbeauchamp that you didn't get in. Don't give up and you will get into a nursing program soon. :) But good luck to you and everyone!

I'm sure you guys will get your letters tomorrow... SRB is only 2 hours away from FSU so we get mail in one day

I'm in Jacksonville and was certain that I would have my letter on Monday if it was sent out last Thursday...then I remembered it was Columbus Day and there would be no delivery. I feel certain today will be the day (which is what I've thought everyday this week). There is no way that it can take over a week to get a letter from Tally to Jax- so once again I'll assume it's waiting for me when I get home from work.

Current 2011 ABSNer here. Last year we were able to call the CON and they would tell us if we got in before we got our letters. Wish you all the best of luck!

Hi DLuxe, so how was the summer portion of the program? I've heard that's the most intense part. Are you surviving?

The summer was crazy (two full days at the hospital and 5 hrs of lecture the other days) and we lost a couple students to test grades but after that it's all down hill. We have one more day of class and start internship in a week. The end is in sight!

If anyone has any questions about the program, I can try and answer them.

When you say "test grades" are you referring to classroom tests or clinical tests? So did these students withdrawal from the program or did just fail? Any tips for getting through the summer portion?
