Hi everyone, well I'm starting this convo so we all can get an idea of who, what, when, and where with FSCJ. Good topics would include testing materials, the average ranking of points for the upcoming term, and any other useful ideas that will help us all get into to this crazy hard nursing program! :) So, lets see if we can help each other out....and it's kinda fun to talk about nursing as well :)
Here are some of the resources I found most useful (in hindsight) for the NAT:
http://www.psbtests.com/site_resource_files/11RNSAEsq.pdf (good sample questions, directly from PSB - the company who created the test)
As a lot of people have said, the thing that will help you the most is speed. Practice answering the questions quickly...go with your gut! I powered my way through all of the questions, making a note of the number of the question(s) I wasn't too sure on then if I had time at the end, I would go back and review those ones. If time is running out, just pick an answer (e.g. A) and just answer that for the rest of the questions. Speed. Speed. Speed. The only section I ended up running out of time in was the reading comprehension. Don't even attempt to read the reading selection first, just look at the answers and then find the part of the reading paragraph that pertains to it would be my suggestion (although I did it that way and still ran out of time...and I'm a FAST reader).
The book that FSCJ recommends will just confuse you and make you study things that are WAY beyond the scope of the NAT so it's just a waste of money. I have it if you REALLY want to look at it but I wouldn't suggest it to anyone.
Most of all, try not to stress too much about it. Make sure you eat something before the test so you're not distracted by hunger. And don't drink too much before the test because you will NOT be allowed to leave the examination room in the middle of the test.
GOOD LUCK!
Hi Pepsi 700The math and science action are not hard. No algebra , geometry or anatomy and physiology. Basic eighth grade math. If you could get a ged book it would be helpful. If you did high school you should be fine . Time is your enemy.answer all questions even guess. Move very fast. Remember photosynthesis kreb cycle mitosis puddit square etc.
Hi SpringNurse - I don't remember the exact questions, but I did have A&P on my test as well as the biology you mentioned. Seems like I had questions on B cells, alveoli, nerves [dendrites & axons and maybe synapses], diffusion, phospholipid bilayer and I'm pretty sure I had a serial dilution question from micro. :)
My test was 12/19/12 and I have slept since then so I don't remember detailed specifics, but I did see A&P on there.

I had some A&P on mine too...from what I can remember. Renal. Liver. And digestive. Oh, and also bones of forearm. Definitely worth a brush up on basic A&P. It wasn't too in depth though.
Thank you so much for the info. I did read the earlier posts and was just asking again in case someone saw something different.
I also have the FSCJ book, and you are right it's very confusing. I have taken the HESI and TEASE and did decent on them.
Do you know if you can retest in the same month for Feb 1 date.
Thanks
Hey could u give me some tips about the teas test I only have one week to study but need something intense for me grasp the info im studying now like do u know any free practice I could take
This offers various practice tests. If you do a search on google for Teas practice exams, you should find some others.
