FSCJ Summer 2013 Nursing Students

U.S.A. Florida

Hi everyone, well I'm starting this convo so we all can get an idea of who, what, when, and where with FSCJ. Good topics would include testing materials, the average ranking of points for the upcoming term, and any other useful ideas that will help us all get into to this crazy hard nursing program! :) So, lets see if we can help each other out....and it's kinda fun to talk about nursing as well :)

Hi Summer 2013 Hopefulls,

How is it going? It is as stressful as many say? Can someone please confirm for me what the hours are the first semester for days? Someone said about 8-4 M-Th, is this about right?

Yes, very stressful. Especially since our group is the first time they've crammed the first term into 12 weeks which is craziness!! I'm in Nights/Weekends so I don't know about days. I can tell you Mondays are test days so all you have are tests which are (for my group) back to back so once you're done then you're done for the day. Then we have lecture every Tuesday. Our Wednesday and Thursday classes are hybrid so we don't meet face to face every week. Like I said, I don't know if this is the same for days but I'd imagine that it is somewhat similar, just different times. Hope that helps.

Hey abpeeler,

After you got approved from worksources, what documents did they ask you to bring in? I'm thinking about applying. And did you also receive financial aid along with worksource? Thanks!

Hi, I'm new to this post. However, I made it into the Fall 2013 fscj nursing program. I wanted to hear from some of you that may have part time jobs. Is it rough to do both, program and work? Any suggestions? Thanks and congrats on your successes.

I know this question wasn't directed at me but I can help answer it. There are a lot of documents you need. Social security cards, birth certificates, etc. They will send you the list. And yes, if you qualify you can receive both financial aid and Worksource. Hope that helps. Lucy

Congrats on getting in!! It is definitely possible to both work and be in the program...however it will take a great deal of motivation, organization and personal/family sacrifice. I am a single mom, work full-time and am in the first term. It's hard work but do-able!!
