FSCJ Summer 2013 Nursing Students

Published

Hi everyone, well I'm starting this convo so we all can get an idea of who, what, when, and where with FSCJ. Good topics would include testing materials, the average ranking of points for the upcoming term, and any other useful ideas that will help us all get into to this crazy hard nursing program! :) So, lets see if we can help each other out....and it's kinda fun to talk about nursing as well :)

lucy2811,

WOW, your score is amazing. I think you should be just fine with that score. Wish you the best of luck. I just want to know what materials you used to get you prepare for this test. This will be my second time taking the NAT and I want to do better this time around. Any suggestions for me?? I use the Peterson book they have on the bookstore and I don't think that help me at all the first time around. Thank you in advance :)

See my last post (may be on previous page) with some useful resources, practice test questions, etc. There have also been some other people posting great advice on this thread. Hopefully since you've taken the test before you'll know what areas you really need to focus on. The best advice I can give is practice your time management. The method I used was to quickly answer all of the questions and go with my gut if I was unsure. I noted my "unsure of" question numbers on my scratch paper as I went and then, if I had enough time, I revisited those questions at the end and gave them a little more thought. I could see that the review cards for biology, chemistry and A&P they sell in the bookstore may be a useful review tool although I didn't use them myself...but I'd imagine they would help review the basic fundamentals which is essentially what the questions on the NAT seemed to be based on.

Hope that helps! Good luck!!

How long before FSCJ will make their decisions? Will they be by mail? I applied to UNF Accelerated as well so I'm just trying to figure out when I'll hear things back from each school.

FSCJ should mail out letters on or around March 29th

kristinhope - UNF sends out their interview invitation mid-Feb, by mail. Interviews are March 8th and decisions are made by March 11th.

Good Luck! :)

Hey Lucy, I'm pretty sure the letters are mailed out March 1st, so we all should know something by March 15th. Geez I hope I'm right. Lol.

That's not what the person at the nursing office told me (they said it would be 8 weeks from the Feb 1 application deadline) but I sure hope they were wrong and you're right!! Lol! The wait is the hardest part!!!!!

Well Lucy lets just hope it's earlier! Lol I got my "inside info" a few months back. Who the heck knows! Lol.

Believe me, I hope it's earlier too!!!!

I know it! I'm soooo over waiting. Geez. I feel like I did in high school before I graduated. Lol. And we've not even started yet! Ugh. Lol. :)

Do you know anything about how the process goes once we're accepted (being optimistic here)? Do we get to choose our own classes/instructors, etc.? Or are we auto-enrolled by FSCJ? And how soon after acceptance do we get our schedules? So many questions!!!! I like to plan things out so this not knowing is killing me!
