FSCJ Summer 2011 Hopefuls

Published

Is there anyone planning to apply for FSCJ's Summer 2011 RN program? I am taking A&PI and II next semester with Human Growth and Dev. and Sociology, then I'll apply. I am taking Microbiology during the spring prior to going into the program. I am taking the Nat in September after Chem 1032. What about you?

Im with u! It took me forever to get through pre reqs. BLAH!!!

I got my CNA recently, and I cant find a dang job to save my life. I really want a job to help with my kids daycare while Im in school. Any suggestions by anyone are welcomed!

Im proud of all us moms going back to school! Cant wait to meet all of you:yeah::yeah::yeah:

Hi K,

Worrying doesn't get you nothing but gray hairs and lemme tell you I've got lots of 'em! lol lol

I also have two children, not so young though (I almost said thankfully but I really miss when they were as young as yours are...it's the best!).

Anyhow, try the local area hospitals and home health agency websites such as Memorial, Shand's, Interim Healthcare. You may not find a CNA position but they have plenty of clerical jobs that you may qualify for and maybe even enjoy.

Ive tried everywhere, and every type of job, and nothing. Ive only had 1 interview and didnt get it. Are any of you guys worried about not getting a job when you graduate? I do!

I think about it but it's a bridge I will have to cross when I get to it. It's tough getting any job right now. I noticed that I will qualify for some of the Patient Care Tech jobs after the first semester of nursing school so that might be an option I will try to explore down the road. I am employed at the moment and I am very thankful that it's a FT job I enjoy in the healthcare industry. Who knows, I might just stay with my employer and work as a CNA until I graduate. My last resort is to work with my company as a PRN nurse. I need stability though so my hopes are that I can become employed as FT nurse.

Keep your head up.

Well I finally heard back from the director. Anyone that is like me and only has the Chem without the lab is ok for the summer :) I don't know when that will change, but am glad that I don't have to worry about it. K nurse, yes I do worry about finding a job after school, but hopefully it won't be a problem. I've already come this far, so I'm not stopping now! lol.

Woohoo! Now u can breath;) now the hard part begins. WAITING:eek::eek:

I'm going for my second NAT attempt this afternoon, so wish me luck! Hope everyone is ready for the ride of waiting and the tidal wave of finding out our fate

To those of you (like me) who need CPR cert, there a class scheduled on January 27, 9am-12noon, at St. Vincent's. Call (904)278-4274 ext 227 to reserve a seat. $30 fee but $25 if you're a FSCJ student. :paw:

Hi i'm a Fall hopeful but thought maybe a summer hopeful could answer this. If I wanted to retake a class that i made a C in, how can I do that. I tried to register for it but because I passed it already, it wouldn't let me. Is it possible???

Thanks for the tip! I may be signing up for that. do u pay upfront?

No you can't retake a class u got a C in

You can not retake a class if you made a "C" in it at any fl community college. I took sociology at UNF and made a "C" and tried to retake it at FSCJ and they told me I would have to wait 6 years in order to retake it. But I can retake it at UNF, I would have to be a transient student in order to do that, it would just cost way more. I even considered taking the class at a community college in Georgia, right over the border because that's allowed. But I decided not to do that because it was very expensive. I decided to just take college algebra instead, because thats the only one I havent taken yet. I already took statistics so I have a math, but I got a "C" in it. Hope that helps, and good luck!
