FSCJ Spring 2012 Hopeful w/???s

Published

Hi everyone. This is my first time posting here. I am in the middle of tackling the pre-reqs for FSCJ nursing program. I am really hoping to get into the SPring 2012 program (fingers crossed!!) But I'm a little confused about something.

I will be taking my last two classes in the fall, Micro and AP2. My advisor told me that I can apply for the program while I am taking these classes....my question is, if I apply to the program before the Oct. 1 deadline how will they be able to calculate my points for Micro and AP2 if I have not yet fully completed those classes? Will I have to wait until the next fall program? I am really hoping that is not the case, but I'm thinking my advisor may have given me th wrong information.

Any help is greatly appreciated!!

Hey guys and gals...listen up...I found this thread from the 2011 summer crew waiting on their letters, hoping, praying, etc. Go to page 56 and pay particular attention to KT2010 and Lindsayy...I read through from there to the end and I will tell you, it was pretty inspirational. It was like reading a great novel...the ups, the downs, the waiting...just like us :) I think a lot of you will appreciate it and the thread provides a lot of helpful information as to the cutoffs and what happens when seats are given up. Trust me, its a good read and I feel much better after reading it:

Hey everyone, In the connections website if you click my programs of study/degree audit it will have Nursing 2149. It will show admit status on there with a Y or an N, is that correct and updated?

I applied with 200.8....I have a feeling I will be applying AGAIN for the third time. Its that darn nat and teas test.

More importantly, does anyones say Y under admit status????

@Chzwoman - I thought of that a few weeks back and I asked the nursing director about it. She said that will not change until after orientation. So, no, that will not be an indicator as to whether we got in or not :) at least not until after orientation (which by then, of course, we know the answer).

Also Chzwoman, let me just say, your 200.8 is not off the mark. The thread I posted on her linking to the summer 2011 students, some of them got in last minute with 195.xx. I say last minute because people give up their seats. I realize points change each semester, but last semester (fall) the cutoff was 199.00. You are DEFINITELY not out of the running. In fact, if we were to go by previous semesters, I would say you are in there :)

Okay great! So we are guessing letters will arrive next week correct?

Ok, so I have a question.

Yesterday I was speaking to a lady that is in my stats class. She completed the RN program in August. We were talking about the PSB-NAT exam and I expressed my concern about it. I would be heavily depending on doing good on it for a chance to get into the program. She told me that if I do not know the answer to a question to skip it, and do not waste time on it. She said that skipping questions do not count against you. She said that the first time she took it, she scored a 58 because she concentrated on answering everything. She said the second time she took it she scored a 95 and that she skipped whatever she didn't know and answered what she did know. Can anyone verify the accuracy on this? I was really surprised to hear that, and of course I am just not sure and I definitely do not want to follow inaccurate information.

Thanks,

- Glam

I'm so nervous to hear if I'm in or not... I don't like not knowing what my life will be like in the near future. I should have a 204-ish score. My friend is in the 190's and I'm going to be dissapointed if she doesn't make it in with me... she's worked so hard.

I'm trying to set up my CPR course, can anyone tell me if this is the right sort of course to take? It says its for adult, child and AED for Healthcare providers.

I believe she has that info. backwards...from what I understand, you try to answer all of the questions. The ones you get wrong do not go against you and that you are scored on the % you get "correct" so the best option is to try and answer all the questions and if you don't know a question then take your best guess. This is just my understanding of it.

I think youre right...answer all of them. Just pick c when in doubt.

So what was the cut off last term? I read a few diff things on here? Good luck everyone !!!!! Hopefully we get closure (good or bad) next week

The cutoff for Fall 2011 was 199.00. For summer 2011 people with 195.xx ended up getting in last minute because of seats being declined. :)

Sheesh! Sorry you had to answer twice Michele! I made it to the interview at UNF and then I was put 10th on the waiting list. Very discouraging. Fingers crossed. Please post when you get a letter so we can all attack our post men :)
