FSCJ Spring 2014 hopeful

Published

I haven't found anything for spring 2014 hopefuls so I wanted to put it out there and meet any other applicants. I am currently taking chem over the summer & I am enrolled in micro for fall. I took my NAT yesterday. I will be applying in Aug for a spring start with 204.32 points. I am hoping to make it in spring rather than having to finish micro and need those points, pushing me back to summer start. Almost 2 years of pre-reqs and sweating it out, it's almost our turn to apply  I am stoked!!!

HI kjkkm. I feel the same way...I used 3 different study guides and they did not help me at all. You never know what will be on the test, so there isn't really anything in particular to focus in science. All I know is that the test covers the basics, but as far as specific science topics, one can only guess what might be on there and be wrong. I will retake it in September. How about you? My best wishes to go to you as well.

I am not taking it again. Right now i am trying to get signed up for CPR before August.

I am so excited its almost time for us. After two years of pre-reqs I am ready to go :)

Specializes in PCU.

Some one posted in the fall 2013 forum that they were accepted with a 189.9. It might not be the lowest accepted point tho.

Fall 2013 won't know the cut off point until someone that didn't get in post it. They only put the cut off points in the denial letters.

Just incase anyone was curious, the cut off score for Fall 2013 was 187.20

Hi everyone! I am also applying to Spring 2014, I am so excited and giddy!!! I am taking Micro in the fall, so I will not have those points on my app, but will have 104 points from my other classes. I will be taking the NAT in a few weeks, I'm kind of nervous because it is like my last step to applying..... hopefully I will do well and from what I have read it is nothing to stress over. Good luck everybody!

Hey girl, I have a two year old that I have been home with since he was born. He will have to be in daycare so I can be at school, and my husband at work to support us. It is definitely going to be hard to find a balance but we will figure it out!

Hi Amanda,

I am taking micro in the fall as well. my class is on tues nights.

Your grades are great, you will do well on the NAT. Good luck!

I got a denial letter just as I expected. The cut off score was 187.20. My score was 169.96, only 17.24 points away from the cut off. Now I am preparing to retake the NAT around the end of September. I will apply for the spring semester and if I don't get in then either, I will keep trying until I do get in eventually.

Kjkkm, I am excited too. St Vincent's is the best place to take the CPR class at. That is where I did mine. It is only $25 for fscj students and the instructor is really good. The class goes by very quick but you get a lot out of it.

Did you have trouble getting through to St. Vincent's about their classes? It seems that phone never gets answered.
