Loaded the ebooks... They are accessible from my iPad, iPhone as well as the Mac i installed them on as promised. I am still trying to get a handle on the highlighting function (it is especially difficult on the touch screens for me) otherwise it seems to be going pretty well :) will keep you posted on how the ebooks are working (or not) for me :)

Congrats to everyone! Does anyone know if our pocket protector has to be white? I'd prefer a different color.

Also does anyone know the results of the raffle? :D

I was going to buy a tablet PC but if the touch screen is a little difficult, maybe I will try a mini laptop...please let me know how you like using your iPad though. I am going today to get my ebooks, etc....YAY!

I'm definitely going for the hardcover books. I don't like the "uncertainty" of the ebooks. I rather lug around my books for four semesters and not have to worry about my computer crashing on the day before a big test or something like that. Staring at the computer screen for hours a day gives me a headache anyway. Does anyone know what room number to go to at the north campus to get an essential card? No one picks up the phones at the number they have listed.

The essential card is your Blue student ID that has the barcode at the bottom. If you do not have this ID (I got mine in 2007 so anytime after that should be the barcode ID card) then you just need to go to any campus to get your student ID card. The North Campus: you go to the Welcome Center in room E-150, Mon.-Thurs.: 8 a.m.-6 p.m.; Fri.: 8 a.m.-3 p.m. (904) 766-6771

iPad is working well for me so far, I have downloaded all of the books through the app vital source bookshelf, so whether or not I am connected to the Internet I can read whenever.

I take the iPad with me so when I was at the dr. Today for example i took it out and continued reading cho. 1 of pharmacology.

The notes function is something i am still working with. For that I always prefer to handwrite anyway... So carrying a notebook to jot down information and transcribe information (for me it also helps go cement the concepts to see it,hear it, write it).

All in all so far i am pleased. i think a laptop would do well also, would allow you the ability to cut and paste into word documents and complete assignments all in one place.

I understand the apprehension about new and electronic books.... I am hopeful that it continues to work well but will make surer to budget for the paper books should i need them at some time.

Good luck Melissa... Let us know how the books are working for you as well,

Lowiie- I thought the exact same thing about the pocket protector... I ended up getting a white one (with pink accessories :)) from medsaver, although after reading over the materials it does not specifically mention color anywhere. To be safe I might get a white one as a backup, would hate to have a technicality interfere with clinicals. :)

and no! No idea about the raffle and i think i bought a total of 10 tickets! :(

I just bought my ebook pack today! I am getting ready to break the seal so I am a little nervous because there are no returns once that happens. I have decided to get a touch/swivel screen tablet PC. I can either use it as a touch screen pc or a laptop. And for about $400 it's not too bad. Atleast I can hide the keyboard if I want to and take my books (minus the heavy load) with me on the go. :)

Thanks! I was thinking blue to accent our top and the patches. Are you days or evenings?
