I scanned the threads and didn't see one for this class set up yet. I'm applying at the end of the semester. Anyone else?

I was on the road to Alabama when I saw that somebody received their letter. I wanted to turn around and check my mail but my family was not having it. So one of my good friends went to check my mail for me and I'm in. Thank God and my friend.

Wooohoooo:yeah: See you guys at orientation!!! And by the way... the CPR lady you guys were talking about... S.S. (don't want to post full name) totally stood me up today. I think she forgot I was coming because she cancelled her Tuesday class this week because she said she had a meeting so she told me to come Wednesday instead. I wouldn't have minded if she would have called me and cancelled even last minute. But she just didn't open the door ,and I'm pretty sure she was home because the car was in the driveway and there were lights on in the house:rolleyes: Oh well. I'll probably call and reschedule anyway, I like the idea of having a small class in someone's house, seems so much more personal and informal, I learn better that way. Maybe I'll see you guys there... going to try scheduling again for this Tuesday.

There were people who could not make it when I was in the program and I think they either got to pick beforehand or get whatever was left over.
Hey, since you already got into the program, what do you have to do about the immunizations? Do the tests for the titers cost extra? If they are positive then we do not have to get the immunization? If you could explain I would appreciate it! I hate that we got our acceptance letters today but can not do anything until Monday because of the holidays.
We're not supposed to post names of faculty or staff. You might want to edit her name out because we've already had a "friendly reminder" today.
Yeah I saw it after my post, but thanks for having my back. I changed it. :)

titers are expensive. the cheapest place to go is the northside medical clinic, it's down the street from the north campus. i have insurance, but it was cheaper to go to this clinic. i payed about 110 bucks for all the titers and the drug test. you'll get your results in a week. if you are not immune to something, you have to get the booster and then have your titers re-done 30 days after the booster. congratulations! :)
and if anyone didn't get accepted - DON'T GIVE UP!! i'm in term 1 now, and many people in my class didn't get accepted until the week before or the week of school starting. a lot of people drop out, or don't pass background checks, so if you are close to the cutoff points, keep your head up and your phone by you because you may get a call!

I have no idea why there aren't any nights and weekends for summer. "You know who at the nursing office" emailed me stating Summer 2011 was daytime only. Did you find my post of when I posted the schedule that she sent me? I can look again and repost it.
Yes could you repost it??? I didnt see it. Im totally disappointed about that. I dont know what Ill do about childcare now

Sorry to hear that Career Student (about SS and the CPR course).
I have an old friend who does the same informal in home or come to you BLS CPR training. I will give her a call next week and see if she might be available. Should she I will post an invitation with the info.
Also, immunization wise you may want to check with your physician about out of pocket cost in the office, or the health department.
I was curious about the background check and finger printing... HAS to be done at the instructed location I am assuming...

congrats everyone! i was also accepted, but going to decline my seat and go for summer! i am very disappointed to see that there WON'T be a summer n/w:( i had NO idea there was one for spring. I always thought spring-day only and summer n/w.
does anyone know how long it takes to receive the CPR card? I have been certified before but misplaced my card. I have scheduled to redo the class on tuesday but want to make sure I have it by dec. 10. anyone have any idea?

Hi, this is my first post on this site, but I just received my acceptance letter yesterday and have some questions. I got in the evenings/weekends for the spring, which I'm so excited about! There are so many things to do that it seems a bit overwhelming. Does anyone have the 21 years and up package code for the background check? It wasn't in my packet and I would like to get that taken care of.
Also, it looks like some vendors will be available during orientation. Are you going to wait until then to purchase your uniforms and other supplies or are you buying them online?
About the immunizations--I don't have health insurance and wondered if I could just go to a Solantic or 30-minute Medical location to get the physical and shots taken care of?
Thank you and I look forward to meeting all of you soon!
