FSCJ/FCCJ Fall 2011 Hopefuls

Published

I know this is early, but I am sure there are Fall hopefuls out there for 2011.

Anyone out there yet, or am I just overly eager?

:lol2:

hey mulli...talk about tough love...lol

I totally get where you are coming from though. I have worked so hard for 2 years to get to this point! but I also understand that it just may not be the right time for me. I was accepted into n/w with 216 pts but money is tight and a really old screw-up is causing me lots of headaches (a misdemeanor). I wish I could have found a post on AN that would have addressed people that do not have squeaky clean backgrounds but it is what it is. At least now I know what I have to do for the next term if I don't get all my documents in on time this semester. And with 216 pts not including Micro, I am sure I can get in next term.

I wish everyone the best of luck and I hope that everyone on here realizes that there are other options. I try to remain optimistic while doing all I can to get into the program. With that said mulli, understand that some people need this, they don't simply want it and I think we should empathize with that. But like you said, how much are you will to sacrifice for it? I have put in two years while working a FT job, supporting my family on my own and still mustering up enough energy to make all As along the way. And I know this is just the beginning!

NJ, if you had a misdemeanor you really should not worry about it. When I was kid I got a misdemeanor and I spoke with a counselor and they said as long as I bring it forward it won't hurt you. Since then I haven't even had a ticket :-) But I do understand the whole money being tight, we are all really stretching ourselves financially for this.

got my rejection today, the cut off was 199.08. Sadly my score was miscalculated, I will address it, not sure what that will do. I really thought this was my time to get into a field I have been longer to enter...I do wish all of those well who got in! I hope you make themost of it and cherish the opportunity that you have been given!

I am just worried b/c the lady over background checks sent me an email saying that she needs all the paperwork (final disposition, police report, etc) by July 25th...according to the state in which it happened (which is very far away), everything is destroyed after 7 years! I will turn in what I can gather and pray that it's good enough.

did you talk to a Nursing counselor/advisor or just a regular advisor at one of the other campuses? the reason I am asking is that the regular advisors seem to give conflicting/wrong info lots of times. that said, I know a misdemeanor won't stop me from being accepted or sitting for the RN exam but I dont' want it to stop me from being accepted due to lack of documentation. This whole situation is stressing me out just a tad! lol

the money thing is not as stressful b/c I have support from my family and they are willing to chip in as long as they can get free healthcare out of it! lol lol

I spoke with the front desk in the nursing office while dropping off my paperwork, I told her the papers I had were the only papers from the arrest. I would try to see if you can give them the exact information of the arrest if they can allow you to turn that paperwork in before the 29th or when you receive the information. Just let them no, I am sure they will be willing to work with you.

Got my decline letter today too. I was only 32 seats away so 3 points can really separate like over 30 people. I did bad on one section of the Nat so I'm concentrating on re-applying for the spring. Ibtate adress the issue immediately about your points . If you are above the cut off, they have to let you in and i'm sure some people have declined so space won't be a problem.

Good luck everyone

I still believe you might have a shot... cautiously optimistic is how i'd be... just considering that summer session the acceptance was much lower and there was someone who was #36 on the wait list and was offered a seat 3 weeks after the acceptance letters went out... Fingers Crossed for you! :)

@NJ,

Maybe you can get the county to write a letter stating that they destroy the old records??? I know your pain. don't let this stop you. do everything in your power to make it happen. You've come this far!!!

RN2011A, Are you sure someone got in with 194 points? I've only heard those with 200+ points have received letters so far. Hopefully Im wrong!!

I am terribly confused. I just received a rejection today 7/13 dated 7/6 stating that the cut off was 199.08 how could someone get in with less than than 195? My points were also miscalculated by 3 points which was still above 195.... does anyone have any knowledge of this occuring in the FSCJ program in the past?:crying2:

I am confused about the points and where does it say in the rejected letter how many points and where you in the line as applicants are? All my letter says is Based on criteria published in the steps to applying in the nursing packet. So does this mean that I missed something in my application?

I would have to assume so, because everyone else's indicates your exact points that they calculated, and your position in the determination of the 144 applicants that were accepted... In order to avoid the same mistake for the next semester you might want to consider going in and speaking to the Nursing Receptionist, i'm sure that she can pull your application and let you know what happened...

4nurs2b-

Mine says the same!!! The lady at the desk said I had everything when I turned it in...I am going to make an appointment to see what is missing..if anything :) oh well...I am going to retake the NAT and reapply for Spring...meanwhile, enrolling in the CNA program to keep myself busy :)

Good luck to everyone else!!!
