At our facility it is generally 12 hour days with some on call. The hours vary depending on the census. You generally know how many patients you will have the night before and call the hospital to arrange a treatment time. Some nurses like to start very early - 5am. Some start as late as 9am. As long as you work your 12 hour shift it is usually a little flexible. Of course on call times vary, but I think you have 2-3 hours to arrive after you get a call. Hope that helps. Which facility are you applying to?
The ad says "Hospital acute care unit. Fresenius Medical Service". I'm not sure what that means. Could that be at a hospital? The lady I spoke with said training was available if I had no experience. I didn't ask too many questions since I'll be applying on Monday. Do you know what Fresenius starting pay might be or approximately? Thanks.
I am considering a job as a dialysis nurse. I have been a hospital staff nurse for 14 months. I have tried many different floors and have decided that I don't like working in the hospital due to the enormous demands. I would like feedback from someone experienced with dialyisis nursing. How is it?
