This is not an earth shattering post but I am in need of a new stethescope and want to get one that is crystal clear and good for both peds and adults. I have recently worked neonatal and pediatrics so have used a pediatric littman which I totally LOVE but it is not very functional on anyone over 10 years of age. What is your favourite?
Please try a search for "stethoscope"....there are tons and tons of posts about them. If after you read some of them and have questions I'm sure we would be very happy to answer them for you.
has anybody ever gotten flack for owning a top notch steth? Just curious about comments like "you're just a nurse, you don't need a master cardiology!" I haven't heard anything but have always wondered if going that big would come across as pretentious. Any comments?
you probably won't hear that because the better scope you have, the better you can do assessments.. if you do ever hear it, i will bet you 10 to 1, that it is because whoever said it is jealous because you have a better scope than them..

Owning a decent scope is not something you get grief over. You just get people trying to "borrow" your scope. Hardest part about having a decent scope is keeping it!!!

I have a Master classic II Black Edition, I can hear in a BUSY Level I trauma E.R., I can here in the back of an ambulance doing 70mph and I can hear it in the Chopper.
IMO those who "NEED" a $200+ Sethescope to hear lung sounds/assesments needs re-evaluate their own assesment skills.
