I'm not sure if this was posted before but I found this info and wanted to share the link. It's for the Nursing Student Loan Forgiveness Program in FL. Could be helpful....

I work at the one of the hospitals that offer it and it was a painless process to get. At the end of this year they will pay $4000 off my loan, and the end of the year after another $4000 and by then it will be paid off. So what would take 10 years of payments for me is taking two years.

I wonder if I qualify as working for the state? I am employed by UF and have state bennies. Worth a shot. Any help with the 40K I still have in loans would be great!

How exactly do you find out if your hospital is one that participates? It never says how to specifically find your hospital...

I consolidated my nursing loans after I graduated. If your hosp. doesn't qualify for the forgiveness, consolidation can help with the payments of your nursing student loans. I'll try to link some sites I used, but Im pretty new to this whole "forum" thing, ha! I used http://finaid.org/ and http://studentloansforcollege.org/ to find the consolidation loans. They pay 60% of your loans. 30% each year for two years and 25% for optional 3rd year.

But there is a contract.
