hi suzanne!i'm working right now in north dakota.i've been here for 2years and some months under H1B visa.i passed my cgfns exam a long time ago.my contract w/ d hospital here will expire april next yr that's why i'm trying to job hunt now.iasked about illinois coz my husband is from illinois.what do u think?i mean i'm open 2 other better possibilities if any.thanks again, hope to hear from you.:wink2: :kiss
You were lucky, usually it was required to have at least TOEFL in the past for H1-B visa. You are not required to complete the Visa Screen at this time, however, that ruling may change. Now, just go ahead and apply to Illinois for endorsement. Some of the hospitals may require that you complete a set of English exams, that is their choice to do so........you should be all set. :)
HEY GUYS!!! I PASSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (scream!!!) I had two brains with me that's why I passed!!!! hahahaha Thank you for your prayers!! I had alot of prioritization questions! Lab results and which one to call the Doctor, and Pharm questions and which ones to question the Doctor's order...etch etch....I had 75 questions. Half of it was situations that I was the charge nurse and I had to make those big boss decisions ie: if I am the charge nurse in ICU and which patient would I transfer to the med surg floor....it was fun, but I said to myself just one question at a time.......THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR PRAYERS...THANK YOU FOR THINKING OF ME AND MY SON

PS: CPMC San Fran, starts their new RN's at 35 bucks, but the cost of living is very high....just something to think about. I still havent found a real job out there....I am still open for suggestions!
Hello, I am planning to sit in the California Board. Can anyone answer my question. Should I pass the board, do I have to wait until an employer sponsor my conversion from a tourist visa to an immigrant visa? Isn't it that you need a SSN to work there? How can a tourist like me get it? HELP!!!
1. You can take the NCLEX any time that you want, provided that you have an ATT letter.
2. You do not need to have an employer to write the NCLEX exam, however, you do need a social security number to actually get a hard copy in your hands of the license. It will not be prcessed until you give them your SSN#.
You will receive a letter stating that you have passed all of the requirements except that they are waiting for you to get your #.
3. Do you actually hold a tourist visa now, or are you just applying for one now?
4. Have you completed your English exams?
5. Have youapplied for Visa Screen?
6. Once you are petitioned and if you have a tourist visa, you can begin work once you get your EAD letter, which is about 90 days after submission of paperwork.
BUT you need to have the Visa Screen Certificate in hand for that to happen...........which means exam and English tests passed.
