Foreign Nurse Passed The Nclex On First Try

Nursing Students NCLEX

i am now officially a us registered nurse!!!after 5 days of waiting, thinking that i did not make it... really felt down after the exam...

finally, ive seen my name on the bon site where i applied. :yeah:

:nono: i did not enroll in a review center nor subscribed to an online review. i modified the review plans of others.:rcgtku: i always read other posts how they did their review, what materials they used, topics to focus and of course most especially- i always pray, positive thoughts with god is the key for the right motivation, courage and strength.:saint:

:typing i started a thread in international section for filipino nurses who passed without the review center. now, i am so excited that finally i will be able to answer, join and share my experience. i am not a us graduate and i belong on the 45% passing rate but i have passed the exam on my first try. i know that you can do it too. you just need to study a little harder and do a lot of practice questions.:typing

be confident with our lord!:saint:

my advice for those who are preparing for the exam:

1.please seek first god. ask for guidance. make plans with him. make plans for the benefit of others not just for your own self.

2. make a study plan. ex.100 q&a a day, specific areas each day, areas of weaknessess, common topics, etc.

3. follow your plan. always pray

4. use saunders comprehensive review book for theories

5. use kaplan and la charity for practice questions

6. answer atleast 3,000 questions before you take the exam. read each rationales very well.

7. have a small notebook so you can write anything that you always keep on forgetting or any topic you feel you need to note down. then reread it when you are in a train, bus, or drying your hair, waiting for a friend..or something like that... repetitions are best tutor!

8. be confident and be positive!!!

right after the computer turned blue at number 75! i knew that i passed because i wished that it would really stop at that number. i am thinking that i haven't answered a q and a where i got 50% lower, so my chances are higher if it would stop by 75. i said to myself, it wasn't that hard. crossing out the incorrect choices using the erasable pad made it easy for me to choose from the choices presented.

after a little while, i recalled the questions that i have encountered as well as the choices. i barely remember them. i panicked..thoughts came in that i was just shocked during the exam that i made almost all choices incorrect.. i really think that i failed. but keep the faith.. you'll pass.:)

:redpinkhe thank you for all your greetings!!! :redpinkhe

I'm a foreign nurse too, from phillipines and im about to take mine next week..i would'nt say I'm 100% sure i'l pass since its been 5 years i haven't practicing. im using saunders 4th edition...it's really different here from what i've learned but we foreign nurses its a challenge for us....pass or fail the first time??? it doesnt matter..just always set ur mind that if u fail it is not because ur not a good nurse or dont have capable to be a nurse here,,always tell yourself that maybe because u wer a foreign nurse, and foreign nurses needs to do a lot of adaptation here in U.S....i have some tips later for now..i'l eat first o.k just woke up though bye!! and congrats. nursemitch..mmmm di i know u????
