  4. oh ok, how is working in the phillipines does it work out after school? i am here worried about working here in jamaica because we as nurses are underpaid and mistreated, i hope i dont have to stay here long because the school fee is ridiculously expensive and what i would be paid here i dont know how i will be able to afford living and paying it back as i took student loan:stone :heartbeat
  5. :yeah:BTW, COOOONNNNGRAAAATTTTSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!! ON YOUR PASS YOU STUDIED HARD AND DEFINATELY GOT WHAT YOU DESERVED:typing
  6. nursemich, are u currently still in the phillipines working or are you trying to migrate for the US if u havent already? I am seeing alot on this forum where due to the retrogression in the US its very hard to get a job in the states so i just wanted to know if you are experiencing those same difficulties..
  7. well i didnt know that was the case, as i know more than one nurses who are going through the process of leaving and i know of one who has many years of experience and her papers have just been successfully processed so she should be leaving before the end of the year, she is now organizing her family for the move. My sister lives there and we were talking about the retrogression that the US was going through but i am to visit her this month so I guess when i come I'll know more. I didnt and still dont know the full extent of what is happening in the US but Thanks alot for your advice
  8. Hey, I just wanted to know if there are any Jamaican nurses here and what was the transition like in migrating to the US from Jamaica. Were recruiters true to their word and was it hard getting somewhere to stay etc?? I am hoping to leave here after i have finished my bachelors but i am a little hesitant as i have friends who have gone overseas to work (not as nurses) and they say they weren't treated well and stuff:(. Is there anyone here in this position or knows anyone who was/is this position???
  9. thanks alot for your help, thats what i was thinking too, i was just gonna wait because i don't know the difference with them and i may end up buying another because it works for someone else and in the end both may end up not working for mem that would surely be a BUMMER but THANKS ALOT FOR YOUR ADVICE, GOODLUCK WITH SCHOOL BECAUSE FROM WHAT I AM SEEING WE BOTH ARE GONNA NEED IT
  10. hey, i have a Littmann lightweight II S.E. stethoscope, i am starting nursing school this Sept. my sister is in going into her 3rd year and says she doesn't think this is the right one. Is this a good one or do you recommend that i get another??? or should i wait until i have started and then try it out? I don't know what they are suppose to sound like or anything so i wont know the difference i guess. Can someone tell me what they think the best thing to do is :)
  11. Would you make more money as a General RN or a Radiology RN??? and how do you go about specializing in Radiology RN (with that being said you would have the BSN in Nursing already)
  12. hey, I am currently attending nursing school to get my Bsn in Nursing but i wanted to transition to radiography after because i find it really interesting, what would be the best thing to do? Should i go into Radiology Nursing or should i just go back to school and study radiography? To be a radiology tech? What would be a more logical transition?
  13. i understand what your saying clearly, thanks alot for your help:yeah: my sister and brother lives in CT so i hope to live there and work after i have graduated from school, have you any advice to give me i'm hoping everything works out, i live in Jamaica and my sister is currently finishing up her nurses degree to leave as well and she is hoping to get work in CT so we can all be close to each other.
