Foreign graduate nurse who wants to retake NCLEX after 3 years

Published

Hi everyone. I just moved here in US a couple of months ago under K1 visa. I took my NCLEX exam in the Philippines on 2009 and did not pass. I want to re-apply again in California but i'm concerned about getting rejected. Is there anyone who knows if i can still re-apply there? I need your advice. Is it much better to apply in other states? thank you

You have a ssn and the only way to know if you are eligible is to apply once you have yiur ssn

Specializes in Medical and general practice now LTC.

We have seen many denied when reapplying to CA

Yes, the chances of getting the application denied is very high, if you are applying into CA. If you apply into any other states, you'll still be subjected to the same CA requirements, if you try to endorse the out-of-state license into CA.

CA BON will ask that you submit the same transcripts and records, so just think of what other state you prefer to live, work and stay for years to come.

Count VT as another state that's been considering PH courses as unacceptable.

When you fail and reapply, the chance of being denied is 100%. Not a good time for PH RNs in CA.
