For all of us who are sweating bullets waiting on acceptance/rejection letters...

Published

I just turned in three of my four applications :uhoh3:, and I'm already sweating bullets! Just thought I would start a support thread for those of us impatiently awaiting results for the Spring of 2008.

Good luck to everyone!!!!

:balloons:

Part of the reason the competition is so bad here is that the economy in Michigan is suffering. There are quite a few people going back to school in the hopes that they will be able to find another job. I'm SO grateful my husband has his - at least for now. You never know what will happen.

I just realized it's October - which means I should know in the next 2 weeks. I keep looking outside when I hear a car pass to see if it's the mail lady! :lol2:

I know...October is here finally!!! So, it just brings us one step closer...I think the closer it gets, the harder it is for me to wait!!!

And do the pp who said something about their application being tossed...I thought the same thing too...I have not called them about the apps, but about other things (like my lost CPR Certification Card and making sure everything was in my file) and I was thinking "they are just going to find my file and toss it and then what will I do???!!! :lol2:

Did you get a copy of your schools point system sheet? Can you get a copy of it online? Just curious because I'd like to get a copy of my schools sheet so I could evaluate myself and see if I have a chance of getting in. Thanks

I found my school's point system by snooping around. I got my hands on a copy of the ADN program handbook, and it had a section in there about how the points were calculated. Your prerequisite GPA x4 (there are only 4 prerequisite classes for this school), plus HESI pts (10pts for 100-90, 7 pts for 89-80, and 5pts for anything below 80), plus one point for each supporting class that you have already taken (there are 6). So I added up everything as if it were perfect to get the maximum points (36). Then I added up my own pts, and came out with 33. Last semester they were taking people with as few as 25 pts, so I am REALLY HOPING and PRAYING HARD that they don't up the bar too much this semester! We should know something by the end of October, begining of November. I had heard somewhere that they post the 'unofficial results' in about 2 weeks, so I am crossing my fingers!! ;)

I applied for the spring semester, but now I am pregnant with twins and wouldn't be able to start even if I got in. I will have to start next fall. Hopefully I will at least have first pick.

Oh boy good luck to you! your certainly in for an adventure!! I have 8 year old twin boys, I had a daugher 22 months when the boys were born, I barely remember any of it now! I can't imagine studying with them that young, I didn't have anyone around to help though, we were in a new state without any friends or relitives, build up a good support network you will need it! You sure will have fun though something very magical about twins!

I have a little girl who will be 3 in a week and a half. I don't know what I will be doing for child care and such next fall. It's expensive enough to have one kid in day care, let alone 3! I'm afraid but excited too.

Wow, congrats and good luck!!!

After waiting several months. I have been accepted ! What a relief! Hang in there!

Still waiting. :lol2: I did hear in micro lab today that they had less applications this round than expected - like half as many! I don't know if it's true or not, but I can hope right? lol

I just applied to my cc program. I won't be hearing anything back until January :o.

I know that there is a 1 year wait list, so I'm hoping to start in Spring 2009, but I won't know for sure until I get the "letter". I'm gonna go crazy waiting all these months........:uhoh3:. :lol2:

Well, I broke my neck getting my application into Harcum only to find out that I won't hear anything untill January. I'm going crazy. I'll be putting in other app's, but this school is realy my first choice. OHHH!!! the waiting, the waiting!!!!!!
