For all of us who are sweating bullets waiting on acceptance/rejection letters...

Published

I just turned in three of my four applications :uhoh3:, and I'm already sweating bullets! Just thought I would start a support thread for those of us impatiently awaiting results for the Spring of 2008.

Good luck to everyone!!!!

:balloons:

:balloons::balloons::balloons: Congratulations Stacy!!! :balloons::balloons::balloons:

I can understand being nervous. I think I've said before that I'm nervous I won't be accepted but also nervous that I will! :lol2: There is that part of me that worries I might hurt someone, that I'll somehow just not cut it, etc. The anticipation of the letter is different than the anticipation of starting clinicals. I have seen several posts that go like this: "Wow, I wanted this so much, worked so hard for it, and now I'm accepted - but now I wonder what I've gotten myself into!"

Glad to see you have come out of "lurkdom" and hope you'll stick around and share your experiences with us. We can all help each other get through nursing school. ;) :D

hey y'all,

i just wanted to let you know that on friday i officially got "the letter", i knew that i had gotten in already, but this makes it official. i'm so excited:monkeydance:!!!! classes start on january 2nd. there is paperwork that has to be back on november 1st. there is paperwork that has to be back on november 19th. open house on october 30. shots that i need to get. tests that i need to have done(tst, twice no less!!) lots of stuff to do before those deadlines. orientation in december!! all while working full time and going to school still at night. it's going to be a bumpy ride but well worth it at the end!! for those of you sweating it out, it's been said before, enjoy the ride because the relief you feel at the end of it all is going to be worth it. for those of you who have been rejected more times than you can count, keep your head up and shoulders high. if the desire to make nursing your career is there, then you will do whatever you have to do in order to get into nursing school. there is a fire deep down inside of me that will not go out ever. i've wanted to do this since i was 16 years old but never quite made it this far. i'm 31 now and have had things happen in my life that prevented me from my goal. from here, it is uncharted territory. i'm so happy and proud of myself right now. i have a very supportive family who is proud of me and i have a mother who is watching over me from above and cheers me on. i'm enjoying this high, and know that i still have work to do. hang in there, everyone who is still waiting. i wish you all luck!!!:p

sincerely,

b:roll

hi all!

i found out this past week that i was accepted into the private school i applied to!! yay, i also applied to my local cc but will not find out about that school until november. i was hoping to go to the cc because it would save me a ton of money, but the people at the private college are so good to me i'm almost tempted to say screw it and just go to that one. they are really caring and sit and talk to me as a friend, absolutely amazing!! at my cc i'm known by my id number, lol, but the :price is right:. i don't know i'll see how it goes next month. anyone in the same position as i? or any good advice...thanks..

best wishes to all,

congrats to you both!!!! yay!!! as far as not sharing the news...hmmmm - not sure i could hold it in!!! :lol2: i would certaily have to tell my dh and my mom, but i guess i could hold it back from everyone else for a little while. but i probably won't!!!

Congrats bunkindoodle!:balloons: I have also been accepted to the January class at Frankford. My name is Stacy and I am a former lurker who has decided to come out an introduce myself. Everyone who is waiting on letters, your time is coming and we will soon celebrate. I am actually more nervous now knowing that I got in. Stupid huh?

Stacy, so glad you decided to start up on the board and welcome!!! And even more, CONGRATS on be accepted!!! That is awesome!!! :balloons:

I won't know til November more than likely...but I can wait a little longer. I can't wait to celebrate!

Thank you so much for the warm welcome. I really appreciate it. I will defintely participate in the boards and share my experiences with everyone. God knows I'm going to need all the help I can get. Tiffany, I believe it was you who had made a previous post about your child having PDD. I also have a child with PDD. He was diagosed at three and is now eleven years old. If you ever need to talk or a shoulder to lean on feel free anytime. I don't have all the answers but I can completely relate and share my experiences of what worked and what hasn't for us.

Stacy, thank you so much! Yes, that was me. He has made phenomenal progress over the last several months. At least he's able to communicate some now! The meltdowns are hard because I haven't yet figured out what triggers him or what calms him down. It will get better though. If you have any wisdom as for what worked for you and what didn't, I'm all ears. ;)

Still waiting. :lol2: It's not so bad. I figure I've been waiting for years already, so a few more weeks really isn't too long. ;)

Congratulations again to those who have been accepted! :D

Hmmm... Are you trying to tell us something without actually saying it? lol ;) I can see how there could be a reduction in the joy experienced if someone expects or hopes for different reactions than they end up getting. Maybe I can hold out when I find out...?

Tiffany

Well aren't you the clever one, LOL! Yes, I just got accepted to nursing school. Last week I got a letter from the Dean of Nursing offering me a seat in the class starting in January.

Maybe it was the wording of the letter - it made me nervous to tell everyone until I was 100% sure I was in. I just wouldn't announce it until I received my confirmation back from the nursing school, after I sent in my reply. So I got my confirmation of placement in Spring '08 today!!!

Ok I am officially going insane waiting on this letter! I am hoping so much that it is going to arrive at my house today! I have been waiting for the mail since I got up at 7:45 (can't sleep...too nervous). Yesterday mail was here at 11, nice and early, but of course today when I am really nervous it is going to be later! I really hope that I don't have to post on here that I was denied...again. I was already denied for Fall 07 and that was extremely disappointing. Sorry for the rambling, but my fiance doesn't understand my urgency to know and you guys do! I had to vent!
