How is it? Is it as rough as you've heard? What's the best/worst part so far? Tell me everything!

I'm very nervous too. Only 4 more days to go. But I'm not in nursing classes yet, just pre-req. First time I've ever been to college. That's what makes me nervous the most.

I have been wondering what kind of students came before me, since it is in writing what is expected of us as far as personal hygiene. Our handbook explains down to the mm the accaptable earring size. I am just ammazed. Well, better get back to reading (I only have about 40 more pages).

I have my ear pierced in the cartilage up on the top (the kind that just about everyone has.) I was wondering if that is acceptable, or if I will need to take it out. Does anyone know?

The best way to find that out is to call and ask. Better to find out before you get to first day of class and they rip you a new one because of your earing. I know we are not allowed to wear jewlery of any kind, not sure about wedding rings. no nose ring eyebrow rings and we have to cover any tattoes. I am lucky none of that applies to me.

We can have 1 set of small stud earrings & 1 plain wedding band. I have a bridal set with diamonds in it, so I am not allowed to wear it. We also must have short nails with clear polish only. We cannot use soaps or shampoos that are scented? That will be hard to find huh? :)

OMG! That will be so hard for me. One of my favorite things is smelly stuff. I am obsessed with my smelly lotions and body sprays! Geesh, this bums me out. I guess I have a while yet though before that kicks in. I only start clinicals in the spring.

So do all of YOU have to cut your nails too???? lol.. Actually I didn't mind cutting mine, but they are the shortest they have been in years !

I haven't had short nails since I was a pre-teen!!! I'm waiting until the night before class to cut them!!!! I also have to get my hair trimmed & buy some white scrunchies. Our hair must be above our collar. I just keep telling my self...........It will all be worth it in the end :) !!

We do...they have to be short enough not to be seen over the finger tips! (Looking at your palms)

We can wear one gold or white stud earring in each ear...she said they could be in any hole in the ear if we have more than one.

Shoes with uniforms have to tie, no clogs.

Hair well controlled and not touching the collar...and only normal colors for hair.

We lose 3 % of our clinical grade for every un-excused absence.

No smoking in uniform.

I am glad they have the rules, I am surprised they have to put the part about being freshly showered and well groomed in writing..I would have thought people would do that anyway! !
