How is it? Is it as rough as you've heard? What's the best/worst part so far? Tell me everything!

The first day of classes for me was Aug 27th. I am now into the second week with the first test tomorrow on theory to Fundamentals of Nursing. I also have a written paper due tomorrow which I have not started nor have I done much studying or reading on this paper due. So maybe I will have to stay up all night. Am taking 13 cr this semester and in my first semester of a 5 semester ADN program for RN.

The first week, skills lecture for 3 1/2 hours with a 10 minute break, then a half hr break and then theory lecture for 2 hours with a 10 min break. Sotoday in the half hour I quickly came home, let the dog out, scarfed down a peanut butter sandwich and coffee and went back for the theory lecture til 2 and then listened to a guy for 20 minutes on what he has to offer at no charge on study strategies. Then practiced the first set of skills again til after 4pm and then came home. Now I reckon I will be up half the night doing the paper and studying for the test. I did a lot of posting for an online nursing math class earlier this evening.

I am also taking anat and phys this semester and haven't started doing anything with that yet except for some intros etc in this online class.

I know I will need to organize my schedule so the next time around prior to a test I am ready and the assignment is done before the night before it is due.

I would like to get some zzzzzzz's but can't tonight. Didn't sleep much last night. Can not procrastinate.:nono:

Oh my. We can only have stud earrings in. No body piercings anywhere else allowed that can be seen. Strict it seems and I have been told we are at the novice stage. Oh well.

It is just as overwhelming as everyone says! There is tons of confusion and not knowing. Tons and tons of reading to do on your own time. I am in my 3rd week and I am exhausted, however, I think I am finally getting a schedule down and it is getting less overwhelming. Still very very stressful though.

My advice is to just be strong and read, read, read. The reading is a very big help. I didn't do any reading before the lecture in any of my other classes but with nursing classes you absolutely have to. It won't make any sense if you don't read everything they tell you.

Well, gotta get back to work and then studying!

Good Luck to you all! ;)
