  1. Hello! I am an LPN grad of DTCC Terry Campus. I am trying to decide where I will go to finish my education. I just wanted to wish you luck. I know it may seem so stressful & impossible, but you'll be fine:) If you every need someone to talk to, just give me a PM. Lisa :)
  2. I feel so much better now, knowing that I'm not alone! :):chuckle
  3. I work weekend alternative, but I agreed to come in tomorrow from 7a to 3p. It shouldn'y be too bad. When you are used to working 12 hr shifts, 8 hrs feels like 1/2 a day. :) Then it's off to Grandma's to eat! :) Lisa

The longest I have worked is 16 hours. At my hospital you do not have to work 40 hours to receive OT, if you come in to work extra hours while they are short, you receive time and a half. If you have 40 hours in, then you would receive double time. Lisa :)
  5. I start Monday & was wondering the same thing! Thank you so much for asking. I'm just afraid I may look over dressed. I'll figure something out between now & then. Lisa :)
  6. I never evn considered missing a day. We had too many pop quizs. Those who chose to miss a day would have trouble obtaining the class notes. The students who attended regularly didn't feel it was fair to give notes to those who didn't care enough to show up. Lisa :)
  7. We were taught "sisters (systole) work while dad (diastole) sleeps" It helped me. Lisa :)

Essarge, My children are in the capitol school district, they are off for the rest of the week. I'm at Del Tech & it looks like we are back to school tomorrow. Are you at Del state? My friend is in the nursing program there & she goes back to school tomorrow also. I also just saw on the news that it is supposed to snow on monday!!!!!!!!

I'm in Dover, De. I don't know if we have to make up missed days or not. I think it would be pretty much impossible. The summer semester starts almost right after the spring semester ends. Plus, graduation day is already set. I know Delaware doesn't have a mandatory amount of clinical time to graduate, so I hope we don't have to make that time up. I have missed 2 clinical days already this week & one of them was in Wilmington (nearly an hour away!). You would think I would have extra time to study this week, but the children are driving me NUTS!!!!! :) Lisa :)
  10. We have a pinning ceremony (May 13th) and graduation (May 19). The pinning ceremony is supposed to be very emotional. I'm looking forward to it, but dread the amount of work that I have to do between now & then! :)
  11. Tomorrow is our last clinical day! I wish I would have seen this post ewarlier, I would have ran out & bought our instructor some red ink pens too! We are going to dinner tomorrow night, after clinical (unless it snows!!!). :)
  12. Clinical is worth 30% of our grade, but you must pass both clinical & theory to move ahead. Lisa
  13. LOL!!!!!!! I remember freaking out before my handwashing skill check! Tomorrow I check off on wound care & Friday I have isolation. I get so nervous too. Even the nicest instructors seem intimidating during skill checks. The worst part for me is knowing that I could be kicked out of the program if I get remediated 3 times. It's the worst part of nursing school. Lisa
  14. Tamara, I feel the same way. After reading all of these post (thank you so much everyone! :) ) I feel so much better. Now if I cxan just get through it without giggling too much!!!! I am soooo ticklish!!!!!! Lisa :)
  15. Do you have to bathe each other during your bed bath skill check? We have to wear a bathing suit or shorts & a halter top. We also have to brush each others teeth. I was just wondering if this was common. I don't mind bathing a stranger, but it will be weird having a classmate scrub between my toes!!!! Lisa
