Hi! I'm a registered nurse in the Philippines. I really decided to join this website because I have so many questions in mind that is bothering me right at this moment. This is regarding my plans of working in Illinois. I will be taking the CGFNS exam this July. In God's grace to pass, I'm planning to take IELTS exam and apply for an NCLEX examination. I would just like to ask an advice from you if what exam should I take first? Is it the IELTS or apply first to NCLEX? And how many months does this application will be approved by the Illinois BON? Because I've heard from my friends that it will took us a couple of months for our application to be approved by the Illinois BON for us to take the NCLEX exam. Is it true? Thanks ahead for your reply... God bless!!!

wait for the eligibility..

Never heard of anybody send VSC to IDFPR as proof of English or CES or something else. In my understanding, VSC is only for the visa purposes. But if that is what they are asking for, I would rather have CGFNS forward a copy to them than send your original copy.

I endorsed my licesne to Illinois about a year ago, I had my CGFNS Certificate forwarded to them by CGFNS. It worked for me.

I just noticed this response. Anyway, their requirements got modified. I asked their rep. if they would like me to pay CGFNS to forward my proof of certification to IDFPR. The rep. told me that they would accept and copy my original VSC; then return the original (which i received a few weeks back). They accept either CGFNS certificate or VisaScreen certificate. They don't require applicants to take the CGFNS exam anymore.

They have not required the CGFNS exam in more than a year.

Help!

I meant to send my NCLEX application to CTS, ahead of my CES, however there was some delay at the PRC- they have my CT-NUR (which I understand must be sent along with my application)... causing me to delay sending my NCLEX application. I thought it was okay because it would take some weeks for CGFNS to make the CES report, I was wrong as I just found out that the report was already 'mailed' (taking less than two weeks). The problem is that my CES report could be sitting at their desk while CTS are scratching their heads with no idea who it's for because I haven't sent my NCLEX application yet.:banghead: Any suggestion what I should do?

And oh yes, how do I request for Illinois' FINGERPRINT CARD. I have sent them email at their website, but I haven't heard from them yet- I don't even know if they got it. So I sent another one, still nothing. Suggestions anyone?

Thank you thank you thank you...:)

Would say send your application. How long since you contacted them about fingerprint card, can take a few weeks to get one alternatively could ring them

Well, I've contacted them about 3 weeks ago. I tried again last week. I still have no replies. I did this through their website, however, I have found an alternative email address and tried requesting through that today. I hope it works, I'm expecting a reply next week.

Do I need to send the FP card first to IBT (and have it processed) before I can send my NCLEX application? Because I have the impression that that's how it works due to the statement in FP-NUR...

Or can I send my NCLEX application now, with a note stating that I'm still waiting for the FP card and that to have it sent to IBT upon receipt? Can I do that? I just want to ask for your suggestions first because I don't want my application sent back to me or worse (FP-NUR mentions PERJURY) :chuckle ...

I am seriously confuse with your posts... I suggest that you read this thread over and over so some of your questions would be answered. Another, when you say apply for NCLEX, you mean apply in CTS? tsk tsk

Here's what I did.

1.) I applied first for CES and completed all their requirements. It took them two months in my case to issue a report.

2.) When I had my report, I went to PRC, I gave them the CT-Nur form, they are the one who would be sending that form to CTS.

3.) I already have my Fingerprint card by then so I sent it to IBT. I had Ibt forward the receipt straight to CTS instead of them sending it to me.

4.) Then, I fixed my application forms too, (App form, Ed-nur form, FP nur forms) and sent them to CTS.

Don't worry, CTS will inform you that they received your documents and they will tell you also what documents you lack.

I'm terribly sorry for confusing you, Ta. :chuckle I am actually confused myself. Yes, I have been perusing through this thread but thought that I should just ask. My problem is that I have not received my FP card yet, and was wondering if I could send my application to CTS now (because my CES report was issued earlier than expected) while waiting for the FP card to arrive. I should have requested the FP card sooner though, but I'm new to this is all.

Thank you for the reply, it shed some light to some of my questions- however, the packet in my possession says that I should be the one sending the CT-NUR along with the four-page Application Form to CTS. ED-NUR wasn't even listed. Probably just new rules, eh?

I suppose I should read that packet again... :)

I think it was just a lapse in the instructions when they said that you should send the CT-nur form together with the application. You give the Ct-nur form to PRC. they know what to do with it.

It is The Ed-nur form that you have to send together with your application.

Just wait for your fcard to arrive, no need to hurry since you already have your CES with you.

My CES report and FP card arrived yesterday... Yey! :yeah: I'm in Cebu now trying to send my application to CTS and processing my FP card (trying to get my fingerprints into the card) so I can send it to Biometrix...

However, the man at the NBI office, oddly enough, refused to process my fingerprint card saying that my card is 'private' (???)... Probably because it looks different from the other US cards that were sitting on his desk... Now, what... :crying2:

I was wondering if you guys know any alternative way I can get my fingerprints into my FP card in a legal way... Or are there any centers that offer fingerprinting services? I went into great pains and waited quite a time to get this card and it just annoys me that they refused to process it because it looks different... :angryfire

Anyway, I'm gonna try the police tomorrow.... Although I'm quite sure they'll just tell me to go back to NBI again... Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated... Thanks as always...

to dcraneses hi! thats also my problem the person at the embassy told me that NM cars are also accepted at IL. I emailed my agent awhile ago il gave you a feedback as soon as i can. maybe tom. God bless!

The US Embassy does not handle fingerprint cards for the individual Boards of Nursing. All have their own that must be used.

They also do not do anything with fingerprinting as well.

Much has been written on what to do about fingerprinting, just do a search for those threads.
