Came across this and thought we need a little humor during out frequent breaks from studying......we need MORE breaks than the youngens.....you know what I mean
Just in case you weren't feeling too old today, this will certainly change things.
The people who are starting college this fall across the nation were born in 1987 . They are too young to remember the space shuttle blowing up.
Their lifetime has always included AIDS.
The CD was introduced the year they were born.
They have always had an answering machine
They have always had cable.
Jay Leno has always been on the Tonight Show.
Popcorn has always been cooked in the microwave.
They never took a swim and thought about Jaws!
They don't know who Mork was or where he was from
They never heard: "Where's the Beef?", "I'd walk a mile for a Camel", or "de plane Boss, de plane".
McDonald's never came in Styrofoam containers.
They don't have a clue how to use a typewriter
Save the earth. It's the only planet with chocolate
I know! That's what I was sayin' by when I was a kid I thought for sure everybody'd have their own personal, "Jetson" flying space machine.
I mean we went from wagons to automobiles and on to space exploration in such a short period of time...I mean, you know what? I thought ppl would actually be living on the moon by now.
Didn't you totally think Star Trek travel was a totally foreseeable, eventuality?
That said, it is amazing what's been done w/ communications though, right? I mean, just look at all of us talking here!
I remember those tunes,too When I was 9 years old I came home from school and saw Neil Armstrong take his first steps on the moon, we had a black and white TV....very primitive over in Europe and regualr TV wouldln't have been on during that time of the day.....They had only TV late afternoon and evenings, repeats in the morning. My mouth just hang open in amazement. Who would have thought then that I ever come over here to the States. I visited Cape Canaveral and saw the 5th space shuttle flight take off......Wow it was awesome to witness that!!!!!!
Oh, man, it was the summer I turned 16 and my boyfriend and I sat in his basement and watched - on the little black and white TV with rabbit ears.

You guys are just babies...Not only do I remember where I was when Kennedy was shot (Mexia High School Civic's Class), I remember getting our first television set.

Well my mom thinks it is funny if I describe a woman in her 50s as "older" (since she is in her 50s). She says, "oh...you mean older like me". I'm sure she would laugh that people in their 40s think they are older . I don't feel old (well most of the time), but my friend who is only 6 months older than me keeps talking about how "old" she is . She is already going through a midlife crisis and she is only in her 20s.
