FMC acute HD nurses, let's act now and stop all this mess that FMC is making by twisting our benefits, salaries, cutting our hours, and not adjusting the pay to the cost of living.
Got a patient? Lucky you. Tomorrow you will start a tx and another nurse will finish it. Like it? They are bringing 10 new nurses from abroad. We have to oppose them!
Wow, that could be a scary proposition for FMC! A mass exodus! Who would cover all those patients! Not a pretty picture for a company that thinks they are all that. In one fell swoop, they could be history! It would serve them right. There are companies waiting in line to replace them, you can be sure of that.
I'd love it I could come in as a traveler. You're not gonna defeat FMC at their own game........ AAMOF FMC has a travel division and many travelers love acutes. Good money in travling. I'm doing it now for FMC.
At least you do not seem affected by the politics of business, and make it work for you. I think that is wise, and efficient. What about those that love to perform dialysis nursing, and don't have that luxury? I never said I know it all, by the way.
And neither did I. Just one favor to all of us. Come back next week or the week after and tell us how it all works out?
do not come to San Diego
Why not. San Diego has a lot of travelers. Travel nurses love the area. 13 weeks in and out. Stay out of the politics. Do what's needed make some $$$ and move on. I've been a traveler for almost 8 years. AAMOF I'm traveling for my local Regional VP. I'm not even using FMC's travel division..........

FMC got rid of all their travelers, but things could change. I think that the goal is to keep bringing in the cheap labor, and then it will take years for the employee to even match an RN competitive wage in San Diego. Clever? Maybe?
It will be interesting to see what changes take place in the next couple of weeks.

FMC has not gotten rid of it's travel division. They may not have any travelers in your unit but that could change in a heartbeat. Do you realize that FMC has millions/billions of dollars to keep the status quo. You aren't dealing with some small time business. The only changes I see are higher unemployment numbers. Don't even think for a minute that FMC won't can you.
You sound like you would like to see us canned! Why so bitter? I thought you were attempting to explain things to us. Instead you are rather caustic. It's strange for a team member or a professional nurse to not really try to understand the conditions of people that work in the same field and not at least try to help out with some suggestions that are helpful, rather than. Saying that a company is so big and good luck trying to get them to change, blah blah blah. I don't get it?

I do understand your perdictment. All I'm saying is that you won't get a union into a Fresenius unit. And they may make up infractions and you could lose your nursing lisence. I'm trying to warn you. But you don't want to see that as a possiblilty. You won't be the first one's canned by big business. And over things much more benign than unionizing.... Several have reported units to the state and have lost their jobs with calls form their BON. You don't want to have to defend yourself to the BON that's not fun. Especially the NEW CALI BON.
Why aren't others from your unit piping in here? Do they realize it's dangerous to themselves to voice these things against a big business. Seems that way. How many do you have here, you and F200? BTW I'd be careful using those names. I believe they are copyrighted, patented names. Patent law is stringent.
And don't think for a minute that Fresenius isn't reading this board.
I appreciate your warnings, and your enlightenment. It is truly a sad state of affairs. It is probably best to leave the field of nursing altogether, but corporate america is all around us. It's not just FMC, that's foresure. Thanks again, I'm not sure if anyone will update us...but will try to let you know. Continued success to you.

I wouldn't bet MY bottom dollar on that. They's just bring in some chronic nurses. Give them the quickie orientation and continue the status quo....I've never known any HD company groveling to keep any staff.
