PHSC 2015 Nursing Hopefuls

U.S.A. Florida

Published

Hey everyone!

I found one topic on this, but it wasn't very active, so I hope this one becomes a little more successful. My name is Jennifer, and I am applying for the January 2015 Nursing Program at PHSC. My home campus is Porter at Wiregrass Ranch. Are there any other 2015 hopefuls? I'd like to get to know you all! I am taking my TEAS next Tuesday and am so nervous. This will be my first time taking the TEAS. Have any of you taken it? How was it?

Any tips? I have finished all me pre-reqs and finished with a 3.6. Not too bad, wish I would have got higher! Hope I get in! Good luck to all you ladies!

Thanks!

And look at that! lol starting in January 2015 they are using the TEAS. (HCC)

Chris you'll get in with that score no problem even in fall, and yeah I seen that as well Nlang, but I'm not quite sure it might be different this go around. Wish WithValor would come back on so I can take of the resident thing lol.

Yea i had the opportunity to return to the school a year later and pick up where i left off i would be graduating in dec if i did that BUT i think things happen for a reason so i decided on the path of PHSC and a better founded education so transition to my Bach degree wouldn't be as rough. and the school was accredited but not in the way PHSC is so they wouldn't take my transfer credits but im almost glad they didn't although my grades were great the classes were crap much was over looked and not detailed enough for the type of education i want. I learned a lot there though in the clinical setting and it gave me my passion for nursing because before then i have had no medical or college back ground. Take the positive leave the negative and move forward lol

Hey Dai it says you live in Hudson, I do to XD

Thats awesome i still need to finish up my co reqs.. i have micro biology left after these classes the i need to take public speaking and something before its considered the full degree. first step getting in the program lol.

Love Dr. Ann in ALS. She made that class so much fun.

DR Ann is pretty rad, Dai You have to take micro with spazani.... I already took it I got an A in lab B in lecture... I think only a couple people got A's in Lecture.

Thanks for being so on top of things, Mike! You're awesome!

I know this isn't official or anything, but I know the stats of two people who applied:

- Male resident, 4.0 GPA, 68.9 TEAS

- Female resident, 4.0 GPA, 71 TEAS

I really hope we all get in! We all seem pretty motivated, so we ARE future RN's, regardless of how these results turn out. I messed up terribly during my first semester of college, which is why my GPA is low. I've learned from my mistakes; I really hope the RN program will be a second start for me. If not, you guys who truly did work so hard from the beginning deserve it.

Question: so the Spring hopefuls of last year got results in October? That would be awesome if we found out so soon... I'm a hot mess right now waiting for these results. lol.

Thanks Melt, I've also talked to a male who has the same scores (probably the same person). I don't want to add them to the list unless they've come on here but I will say, they will both be around the scores of dai. Melt I think there are many great potential nurses who sometimes just can't make it and that's unfortunate (Some schools are harder to get in). I believe on the previous spring thread they got the letters on October 17th from what I see, and I do believe you get denials after. I see people who got in with around our average scores for the RN. Melt make sure you apply for LPN if you haven't!! your teas is high enough for it and you can always do the transition.
