MY dues only go up when my pay goes up.
I just got a 13% raise. Significant, even by 'union' standards.
Know how much my dues went up? Oh yeah, I'm not in a union - THEY DIDN'T GO UP. They are still ZERO.
But, I'm sure, if I WERE in a union, they'd be taking all the credit for a raise I didn't need them to get for me IN THE FIRST PLACE.
~faith,
Timothy.
I purposefully used the word "boneheads." When posters insert snide little "left wing" remarks in posts - I find that equally insulting, and turning the other cheek so less satisfying. And still no one can tell me if there is even one strong nursing union in the state of AZ.
Not yet. Maybe very soon.
Maybe not.

I return to my point that the only thing holding back nursing is nurses.
This couldn't be more true! What can we do to unify nurses, without it having to be a union? How can we joing together to benefit us, patients, ratios...etc? Unions seems to be for the specific hospital or system. I'd sure like to see nurses be as powerful a voice as a tobacco lobbyist. But, we can't.....because we are unable to unify.
The ANA is ineffective (so I'm told). All the other orginazions are too small. Who's looking out for all of us?????
