Hi everyone,
I'm in the process of study for the nurse Procalc and the NLN entrance exam for PBCC fall nursing program.
I read on line that this school works on a point system
I was wondering if anyone who has been accepted to the program
(past/Present) student: HOW MANY POINTS DID YOU HAVE TO
WHEN ACCEPTED TO THE PROGRAM.
Anyone with info about the program, would be helpful.
Thanks
2Bnurse-1 How is it going. have you started your 1st semester yet. We just got finished our first semester and we are off to second semester. I will be studying over the summer to prepare. I'm not expecting that it will be easy.. First semester was ok, should of prepared a little better and have been more discipline with my studying. Well good luck, let me know how things are going.
HEY GIRL, whats up...long time huh. well i started the program so far so good. it seems very organized lots of info. there are some students who seem to be in there own little world at times and keep asking the same questions over and over. our Fundamentals instructer is very funny and sweet (lets see how her exams are) but overall i like the atmosphere and all the resources available to us.
Thunter, mystical.diver i need your help, pointer, tips to help me achieve success in Fundy class. Thank you so much.
CONGRATULATIONS ON PASSING FISRT SEMESTER ALL!!!
Hello all, just thought I'd throw this out there.
A couple of days ago while speaking with a Lake Worth PBCC academics counselor, regarding my application to the nursing program, I was informed that there are 82 seats available for the fall 09 nursing program. I was also informed that point acceptance levels can range anywhere from between 24 - 28.5 for the fall programs.
Good luck to us all!
Does anyone have any suggestions on preparing for tests. I am recording the class which I heard was recommended. I am taking this class in 6 wks. All I have to say is what a nightmare. I don't understand why they don't just combine the 2 summer sessions into one and just have a larger class size. This is way too much info for 6 wks especially since we are doing the same exact work as the 16 wk class. We had to have 12 chapters read the first week. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
I took the class online. It was a full semester and even that was a nightmare!!! It's SO much info and I can't believe they're trying to pack it into 6 weeks!!! I guess you will just have to live, breathe, and eat pharm for the next 6 weeks of your life. I would register for fall pharm just in case you don't pass. Good luck to you. Just remember, a C is passing!!!
hey Jentrbo...I see you're applying now in the Fall =) I am turning in my application very soon as well. Just out of curiousity, how many points do you have? I'm so stressed out about my points, I have a total of 26.7 points. =/ I feel like that not enough. Do you think I'll be accepted???

The worst part of it being in 6 wks is that we cover the same exact amount of info. What is even worse is we only have 5 tests and the final. The reg semester has 6 and the final. So our grading is even tougher. I am staying positive, I don't want to take it in the fall. 2 wks down, 4 to go. I am trying to get into the nursing program and want it out of the way. I may take your advice and just register in case.
Hi Everyone. I'm new to allnurses.com. I'm currently preparing for the Pre-NLN Exam, however, I'm not sure what science material I need to study. I bought the 2009 Review Guide and it covers Biology, Anatomy, Physics, and Chemistry. When I went to register for the Pre-NLN Exam online, the website stated that the science portion will include Biology, Physics, Chemistry, and Earth Science (not Anatomy). Can anyone please offer some advice on which Sciences I'll need to study? Thanks!
I just studied what was in the NLN study guide. There was a lot of physics on my test and some of it wasn't covered in the guide. I got a 96 on the test with just going over the nln guide. One thing I can recommend is time yourself. I finished the math just in time and the science with a lot of time left over. I didn't have enough time to finish the vocab/comprehension part. You can't go back and finish previous sections. Best of luck!!
hey 2b
hows it going thunter told me you are taking a summer excelarated class, how are you doing with it? Its a whole different way of thinking isn't it... the best advice i can give you is dont procrastinate.... do alot of questions.. that seemed to help me. let me know if there is anyway i can try and help you with

Hello all, I am an allnurses newbie and have to say I am very glad to have found this site, as I have found it to be very helpful and informative, everyone seems pretty cool. I too, am applying to the Fall 09 PBCC LW program and was wondering if anyone knows how many postions are available. I've read, that it is less in the Fall, but not sure by how many.
Also, for those that have finished their first semester, any words of advise to those of us possibly starting in the Fall? I'd like to get a jump on things and it would be great to know what other people found the most challenging.
Much appreciated!
Miguel
