Hey guys! Is anyone here applying for the Generic BSN program for Fall 2016? I couldn't find any topics for it.
I'm in the process of applying right now and I just took the TEAS V today! I'm content with my score, but I may retake it. I hope that with my TEAS V score, my GPA, and my extracurricular activities combined that have a good chance of getting accepted into the program!
My stats are:
Science GPA: 4.0
GPA: 3.96
TEAS V Cumulative score: 79.3%
Reading portion: 83.3% unfortunately I ran out time on this one and had to blindly guess on two questions!
Math portion: 66.7% such a bad score for me! I had to guess on like 5 questions because I wasn't keeping track of time!
Science: 81.3% I'm so relieved with this score. I was so scared that I wouldn't pass the 62% mark. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be!
English and Grammar: 83.3 % It was an okay section, a couple of tricky questions. I had like 3 questions on how a word is spelled correctly and those get confusing when two of them look like the right answer!
I would love to hear from anyone else who is also applying for the Fall 2016!
@Diamond001 Sadly I doubt you'll be able to change your location. A large amount of students have been placed in the VA and those who are at a different location do not want to switch to work at the VA. I have the VA too and I would love to switch. I have been trying to switch locations from since I got my clinical placement. The most that I could have done was switch my clinical day from friday to thursday since i am in section 1. As for the forms, it is a lot, make sure everything is type written, print out the application after you have completed it on the computer and sign the necessary areas in ink then scan it to dr.yap. there is also an online course you have to take its like 176 pages long. after the course you get like 3 certificates and you need to include those in the email as well for dr.yap.

I dropped my forms for the VA to Dr. Yap. He made sure I had everything, made copies of them and gave me the originals. If you are not in florida, you can print the forms after filling them, sign them, scan then email them to him with the requires documents such as CPR card etc ...
Call him to let him know when you email them. A lot of people haven't submitted their package yet. He told me he will wait until next week to send what he has to the VA.

I hope it will be a good experience as well. I don't really know why I feel a negative vibe from people when they talk about the VA. I don't want to believe what others think. I have to see for myself, and see how I feel about it. I know we will see a lot from med-surg to psych.
@jackymass23 That is why I was a bit skeptical of being placed there because everyone I spoke to had something negative to say about it. Either way I can't change my location now so I am just going to make it the best experience I possibly can and learn as I much as I can too. Who knows it might not be bad at all. lol.....You know i just realized we are in the exact same clinical. Your email is on the list of people that was sent in the clinical email I received after my switch!

@disneylove225 The ATI manual is ok. The TEAS Mometrix is really good. You can also use McGrawHill TEAS Practice. I know for a fact that you can get the McGraw HIll online for free as a pdf. Good Luck with your application. Hope to see you next fall!!
