First nursing jobs

I have a year before I graduate, so I realize this is premature. I know that when I'm done with school, I'd like to get a job in the same area where I want to go to graduate school ... which is a state on the other side of the country. Does anyone know if it's easy or even possible to get your first job out of nursing school in a place where you have to relocate? I imagine it would be fairly easy if I wanted to stay where I am and then move after getting a year or so of experience. But I'm trying to avoid that route if at all possible.

I know quite a few people who went this route. Just make sure you apply for licensure in the state you'd like to work.

This is what I plan to do. Nurses are in pretty high demand where I want to move to (at least...according to searching the hospital careers) Try doing that?

My first job as a nurse was approximately 2000miles from my school. Since where I went didn't have many nursing schools I had three offers. If you are ok w an underserved area I say go for it.

i just noticed my last post was timed for 6:41 pm, but its 12:41 here. What's up w that?

Go to the state (desired) area on here and ask about job market. Some of those job vacancies are some that never get filled (yes this really happens) , and some require experience or have no new grads status. I think you're awesome for thinking about this now instead of waiting until the month before you graduate, I wish more would do this. Good luck! I'm curious, send me a PM of location if you don't mind to share

I apparently have not used the site enough to send PMs, so I'll just post it here. I don't mind. I'm looking at three options, based on their nurse-midwifery programs: Seattle, Kansas City, and Albuquerque. I live on the East Coast.
