Finding significant other in nursing school

Published

I'm a male pre-nursing student and I know this is a stupid question but did anyone here find their significant other in nursing school? I know there will be absolutely no free time/ time to date, but still, has anyone made it work?

Thank You!

My husbands cousin found her signifixant other in nursing school. They are recently engaged and make it work. They study together and keep each other motivated.

No free tIme? I know people who are married and have kids that are in nursing school that make A's and B's and have had no problem having free time. I think people have been told they will be a slave to school, so they turn themselves into one cause that is how they have been taught it should be. Life is too short to stop living, even for a little while. Manage time correctly and stay on top of things and you will be fine. You will not have as much time, but you will have some time for you!

My sister-in-law met her (now) husband in nursing school. They've been married for about a year and a half and together for a few years before that. Seems to be working well for them :)

My cousin met his wife in nursing school. 20 years later they both still work in nursing and they have 5 kids!

I don't think it's impossible, it's how you manage your time. I am a single mom to a 7 year old boy. I don't get out a lot during the semester but I manage to make some time for fun. You have to or you will lose your sanity. My biggest supporter is my bf. He is always so proud when I get an A or do something good in school. We don't get to see each other every day but it makes the time we do have all that much more special. We both have hectic lives and we are trying to make it work. He knows that I will be better off in the end for me and my son.

My relationship actually fell apart while in nursing school. But I guess it was bound to happen either way. I haven't met enough single, available, age appropriate guys in nursing school that I'd want to date. But I guess it could happen for you OP.

Two people in my class got married while still in school. Another woman married a doctor who had dealings with the nursing school. Unfortunately, her marriage lasted less than two years. That particular doctor had a reputation for marrying nursing students then discarding them. Almost forgot about the nursing instructor who left his wife for one of his students. He left her too, for another student. That caused a lot of talk around the school.

Sounds like Jerry Springer the nursing school edition!

Specializes in L&D, infusion, urology.

A new relationship can be distracting. I know this past semester was harder for someone who was in a new relationship!

Specializes in Oncology/hematology.

We had two students in my class attempt to date, but it was just too much. A lot of marriages have ended in the last year and a half though. Sad.

I suggest you worry about finding your significant other after you become a nurse. But hey, it can happen while you are still a student.
