Finding Employment

I am having the hardest time finding employment as a LPN in Tallahassee FL. anyone with ideas on where are the best places to look.

I'm in the same boat, floating in the Jacksonville area. Seems like all anyone wants is RNs.

Even in LTC or doctors offices? Around here corrections and psych nursing are also areas that utilize LPNs quite a bit.

Good luck.

I have called and went by numerous dr offices and they all say that they use MAs not LPNs. I've applied to 3 different LTCs and either they're not hiring cause their pt ratio is down or they'll get back to you. My school(class of 19) and a community college graduated all at the same time, so I'mm guessing the area is saturated with job seekers & my age probably dosen't help me(54). So I just keep trying & praying.:(:sniff::bluecry1:

My friends say roughly it could take even 2-3 months. All i know is all of my classmates and friends are working. Stick with it. I found out I just passed and will be in the same boat. What I will do is post my resume online and do alot of legwork...meaning I will GO to places with my resume. Of course, I will use the usual newspapers and such. One of my friends told me that looking for employment will be your job until you actually get one and to put in that amount of time. Youll find something, be patient. As far as the age thingy, Im also in that boat but not a worry. I know ill get something.

Hang in there and when possible try to get some face time in with HR because if they take a liking to you it can help push things through. Here's hoping you get a great new job very soon.

HAVE YOU TRYED THE INTERNET?

I am having the hardest time finding employment as a LPN in Tallahassee FL. anyone with ideas on where are the best places to look.

I can tell you of a couple of internet sites. There is indeed.com,careerbuilder.com,simplyhired.com.But,I don't know how much it is going to help.I have been unemployed now for three months in Georgia.Eveyone wants an RN.I have been an LPN for 12 years. But,who cares.Everyone says you need to get your RN.I ALREADY KNOW THIS.But,if I don't work I don't eat pay mortgage, bills or go to school. This is my second bout in a year with unemployment and it is rough. Now,I think that when I go back to school it will not be for nursing.Good luck in your search and also try agencies.SOMETIMES,they have work for LPNs.:nurse:

Good Luck I am in the same boat in Virginia I have been laid off since may I have been to plenty of interviews but no job as of yet.

Well, you be sure to check on agencies as well. Also check your friends or contacts in nursing.I just landed a PRN job with a rehab facility through a friend. Not exactly what I wanted, but bills are still rollling in in.However,I read the 23rd Psalms so I won't lose my faith during this test that I am going through.I wish everyone the best of luck with all that you do.But, most of all keep your head up.You are after all a real nurse.:urgycld:
