I'm glad you said what you said.That's because in Georgia LPNS CAN do anything that RNS do.The exceptions are for specific facilities.The BON does not restrict GA LPNs from doing anything.Wake up GA LPNs and read the BON website.Now go back and get your RN if you want but if you remain a LPN...get the respect you deserve.

As an LPN, you already have the skills needed to be a valuable RN.Don't let anyone fool you.You just have to know how to sell yourself whether you are a nine or twenty four month student.Think positive.

ABAC in Tifton Georgia has LPN to RN.You attend one day a week and get your RN in three semesters.Of course all prerequisites need to be completed as required by the school. If you are determined to get your RN,you can get it there.A friend of mine already has done it.Good luck!

My guess is that you all have to take into account state by state.georgia allows lpns to do everything that rns do except cardiac ivp.they don't do our assessments at our hospital,they just sign behind them.i really think that we should all start respecting one another.it makes attitudes and causes dissention amonst the staff.would you want your parents,siblings,friends taken car of by an incompetent rn or a competent lpn or vice versa.i really think that because of the nature and responsiblities in my job,i feel i should be paid more. A five dollar difference would suffice so that rns could still get paid for their education.but nursing is a ridiculous business now.one hand washes the other.an rn told me that's why i get paid the big bucks.well, i said since education is big,why is fantasia without a ged making more than you.just be respectful to others.you are not above a fall.you just might need each other one day.no matter how much you are getting paid-patients are first!

Well,you be sure to check on agencies as well.Also check your friends or contacts in nursing.I just landed a PRN job with a rehab facility through a friend.Not exactly what I wanted,but bills are still rollling in in.However,I read the 23rd Psalms so I won't lose my faith during this test that I am going through.I wish everyone the best of luck with all that you do.But, most of all keep your head up.You are after all a real nurse.:urgycld:

I can tell you of a couple of internet sites.There is indeed.com,careerbuilder.com,simplyhired.com.But,I don't know how much it is going to help.I have been unemployed now for three months in Georgia.Eveyone wants an RN.I have been an LPN for 12 years.But,who cares.Everyone says you need to get your RN.I ALREADY KNOW THIS.But,if I don't work I don't eat pay mortgage,bills or go to school.This is my second bout in a year with unemployment and it is rough.Now,I think that when I go back to school it will not be for nursing.Good luck in your search and also try agencies.SOMETIMES,they have work for LPNs.
