Finally Passed NClEX-5th time!

Published

Hi Everyone!

I FINALLY got my PASS in the mail today! I took the Nclex 4 previous times, and I had tried Hurst, Kaplan and studying on my own. This time I did Uworld, I went after it seriously! I knew my disease signs and symptoms inside and out, I also knew my Lab Values inside and out. I had taken the test 4 times, each time getting the MAXIMUM AMOUNT of questions and would be Near Passing on EVERYTHING.

This time, I did Uworld, I went in with the attitude that I am going to take the LAST test I ever have to take! I STILL got all the questions---I knew I failed when I left there. I got ALOT of select all questions, one math, TONS OF "which patient would you see first" -a lot of exhibit questions and SEVERAL meds. I told my family I might as well plan on when I'm taking it next....I refused to check my results. Today my letter came- I opened it, and was looking and it was just two pages! Where was the report I thought??? I LOOKED AND IT SAID "PASS" I am still in shock, that test was hard, but I TOTALLY believe that Uworld was the answer!!! Tonight marked my ONE YEAR of walking across the stage graduating....and TODAY I got my PASS IN THE MAIL! Never give up!!!! You all will make it, I knew I failed...I just knew. But I passed!

Biggest congratulations to you for not giving up!! I can't imagine how disappointed you may have been each time... but in the same way... I can't imagine how HAPPY you are with your results!!

You're going to be an amazing nurse.

Awww thank you so so much ShanHK- I failed to bring up that I had gone through a divorce and I was having ALOT of DRAMA with the ex, I believe me standing on my own two feet and letting him know he is no longer in control put me in a better state of mind this time too.

I was looking for the papers in that envelope automatically that said near passing, and below passing and above....LOL but they were NOT there. I cried, screamed, hugged my son, cried, laughed...I tell you what I was out of control!!! It was disappointing the first 4 times, but the wait was HEAVENLY!!!

What did you pass the LVN or RN ?

Good JOB !

Congratulations! I just found out I failed first time. Very upsetting, but I will study again. I am thinking of studying Uworld as well. I did Kaplan (the book) and Nclex mastery app. I studied a good 3 weeks and felt ready... I wasn't. Hoping this next time I am.

Hello can you please let me know how you study. I have been out of school for 4 years failed once and now I want to try again hearing your story.

Congrats your story is amazing and so inspiring. I will be a repeat test taker and trying to work on a marriage as we been separated but in order for me to get where I'm trying to go all the unnecessary drama and stress has to go.

Hi there ksaunders22- This time around I did 200-300 questions daily...everyday. I did UWorld. I knew my lab values inside and out. I knew my Insulins, my basic group of meds. I do feel UWorld and knowing my lab values and doing those questions EVERY day except I did nothing the day before the test and test day. I read every rationale ...so I would know WHY that answer was wrong.

I got good sleep the night before. I ate good but didn't stuff myself before I went. I took a couple snacks and a drink for my locker. I took my breaks to regroup. As I got the maximum number of questions this time...same as all the rest. I feel UWorld was the answer for me. Good Luck and NEVER give up!

You are exactly right. I went in with drama Atleast 3 of the 5 times I tested. Maybe 4 of em. Lol But know your content. Your lab values, diseases, you will never know all your meds. It's not possible. Know your insulins, your basic groups of meds.

Eat well, sleep well, take a drink and snack. Go in with the mind set..." I will NEVER have to take this test again, today is the day."

Best wishes. If I can do it...so can YOU!

Thanks NurseKari

Congrats. Very happy for you. i have 18 hours to go before i check my quick results. i got good pop up but not taking it as i passed. These are the hardest 48 hrs of my life lol

A big congratulations on passing this road block on your journey to be a caring nurse. Give yourself a pat on the back and maybe a glass of wine because now your journey begins!
