Through networking with fellow classmates I landed a job at Kingston Hospital. Upstate NY. Its about 2hr drive from the city. I am so exited about the beginning of a new career development and the journey that it the nursing profession will lead me too.

Good luck to everyone who are still searching and keep your fate and spirits up!

Congratulations! At least you won't be too far from the city that you can come back and have fun on your off days. Good luck. :)

Kingston is an alright hospital..If ur coming from the city you should have looked at Orange Regional Medical center, or St. Lukes in Newburgh, about 40 min closer than Kingston/Benedictine. Regardless, Ulster county is a very rural place so when you are in the middle of nowhere as many of the towns up here you take what you can get. jobs for new grads have been hard to come buy around here, due to the fact that St. Francis and Vassar brothers medical center both did not have New Grad programs this year. Coupled wit the fact that you have Ulster/Orange and Dutchess community colleges popping out nurses as fast as humanly possible there is def a flood of new GNs in this area. Most of them unfortunately cant get jobs in the city because they dont have their BSN. The only people who have their BSNs around here are those who had enough money to go to Mount Saint Mary's college in Newburgh, altho you will find a few people here and there that went to other schools. However most of the RNs in this area are ASN/ADNs. But congrats on getting a job, you are a part of the lucky ones.
