Things you've learned about patient's religions and care?
I believe you got it wrong, ham is NOT halal. It is not permissible to eat ham. I dont understand why it had to be reported. As a muslim, if I had accidentally eaten ham, I would take it for what it was- an accident. I wouldnt want the nurses to be running around about it and delay care to those that needed it. I do, however think that in this day and age most everyone should know that muslims to do not consume ham/pork. Ps. this reply is not meant as an argument but as clarification and facts.

RN to BSN online
Does anyone happen to know if University of Wyoming or University of Texas Arlington require clinical hours for the RN-BSN program? Also, does anyone know the tuition for Texas Tech RN-BSN program? I greatly appreciate any info. Thanks!

Did you get enough phlebotomy experience in your ADN program?
In my nursing school, we were not allowed to take blood draws!! We werent even allowed to tap on the arm! We could observe of course, but thats about as far as it went. It was a liability issue, not sure if other nursing schools were like mines, though. Plus after you graduate and start working, the hospital will train you. Good luck, Im sure youll do fine.

Orientation Nightmare!
I believe it is more productive if you took the criticism and learn from it. It didnt seem right how the preceptor handled the situation but dont let that get you down. The more you stress about it, the more pressure you'll feel. Learn from your mistake and move on plus having 2 more weeks for orientation will probably be good for you and you'll get more help. Comparing yourself to others will only get you down, you should be proud of yourself for doing the best you can and know that you are always learning. GOOD LUCK!!

Finding a Job as a New Grad
To me that isnt worth it because even though you have the knowledge, you dont have the experience which is ultimately what most, if not all the hospitals want.
