Congradulations, I got into a program as well. I start Jan 20th. It wasn't my first choice but I figure at least its a program. I am kinda nervous because I hear so many saying LVN's are being phased out. Oh well I was just happy not to get another rejection letter in the mail. Best wishes to everyone:yeah:
I keep hearing that also but I know many LVN's working in hospitals...actually the LVN that I work with work L&D at the local hospital. Plus if they phased out all the LVN working then the healthcare system would have BIG problems. There is already a nursing shortage. Plus its online and I can't afford nursing school. So, since its online, I can work and have my school paid for by my company. As soon as I pass the boards I'm applying to to get my LVN to BSN and it will be paid for also. So I'll have my RN with no loans!!!! :)
:ancong!: I guess we are all in the same boat!! I start Jan 20th....and dont be scared!!! You'll do great. I know by the end of the semester we will all be hooked on coffee :smilecoffeeIlovecof and needing a major vacation but its worth it!
Congrats Jasel!!!!
Ybstressed speaking of being hooked on coffee, my best friend and I start Jan 12 and we went out and got us one of those nice travel mugs that are great for coffee because we already know what the deal is. Getting prepared for those longggg study nights...
LOL...MsTn81...I agree...I'm stocked up and ready to rumble...AZMO2...I agree with the waiting list deal. I already have all my pre-reqs done for RN but the waiting list thing is crazy...I make one C in history (which I HATE and WILL NOT redo) and that brough my GPA down. So I decided to go a different route...get experince and not have so many student loans!Shord....where are you going to school again? Is it in Texas?
Well I'm happy to say that today was my last day of nursing school. I passed the ATI and am done with the program. I'm glad and nervous at the same time. Glad that I finished, and nervous that I don't feel like I know a quarter of what I need to be a nurse. Overall though I'm just glad to be done. It was a lot of hard work but I know it will be worth it. My study habits didn't improve either: P
Thanks once again for the advice and well wishes. Just figured I'd let you know in the end it was appreciated :)
edit: And yes nursing school did introduce me to coffee : P

Well after nearly 2 years of pre-reqs and applications I'm finally starting nursing school in January. Just got the acceptance letter. I'm really excited but at the same time am scared out of my mind. I'm just worried about developing good study habits that work for me and managing my time. I knew nursing school was hard but some of the things I've read on several forums make it sound nearly impossible lol (of course I know this is not the case or I wouldn't be doing it:D ). And I've never had great study habits. But I'm mostly excited. I know it will be tough but I'm extremely determined and have a good support system.
