LVN to RN bridege at Sac City College
I don't think you are ever too old and I was taught anything worth doing will be a struggle that is how you know your on the right track. I don't really have the desire to go back to school but I want to become a RN that is my desire so Im going to do what I have to. Just ask yourself where you want to be in another two three or five years. I hope you continue on but whatever you decide as long as your happy that is what matters.

Confused...should I become an LPN first?
Weigh all your options and do what fits you best. I applied to all programs, LVN and RN and only got into a LVN program, finished got my liscence started working as a LVN and got into a bridge program all within two years. I worked my current occupation while doing all of this. I am glad I took the route I did there really was no other choice. I did community college because I have a family and couldn't see putting a burden of loan payments on us. I am about to start the LVN to RN bridge and next I will go for my BSN MSN or Doc in Nursing which ever seems a better fit for me, as I have a BS in chemistry already. It took me a long time to figure out what would fulfill me as a career but I think Ive found it. I am glad I became a LVN first because now I am sure nursing is the way for me and two years goes by really fast.

Roll Call, LPN to RN Students!!!
@ Robinlyna You just described me in the LVN program. I can't believe I am about to subject myself and my family to that again but having only been an LVN for a short time I know I need to do this. I never thought of myself as a good student. I just did what my parents wanted and now at 37 I am going to school willingly how crazy is that. I truly enjoy this profession and I am so happy I have decided to do this, even if I am going to be a crazy nut in a few months. Anyway I wish all my nursing sisters the best.

Roll Call, LPN to RN Students!!!
I will start my LVN to RN transition class in June and if I pass start the RN class Fall 2011. I graduated May 2010 and got my VN license Dec 2010. I am very nervous and excited about the LVN to RN program. I have to retake the TEAS test which sucks but at least I am on my way to my goal.

Waiting for BVNPT to make a decision
wow that really makes me scared. I have so much riding on this whole thing if they deny me well I don't know. My situation is similar did they give you any reason or just a denial?

Waiting for BVNPT to make a decision
I actually got a letter from enforcement before I got my letter that I had passed the test. I am still waiting for a letter saying everything is clear and I can pay to get my license. I am on week 11 from the day I took my test.

Waiting for BVNPT to make a decision
I took and passed the NCLEX-PN Aug 2010. Got a letter stating my application will go to enforcement two weeeks after I took the test and got my letter that I passed three weeks after the test. I am currently still waiting for the BVNPT to make a decision on my application. My offense was 14 or 15 years ago misdemenour petty theft and bad checks. I was young and dumb. Anyway I am still waiting to hear from them and I have called, emailed and all I keep getting is all cases are different and we can't give you a time. I was told up to 60 days then several more weeks, and it is just very frustrating. I really need to start looking for a job. Why is the board so secretive and allusive about this process. I understand each case is different but if your working on my case can't you speak on my case. I am also told they are understaffed and are very busy, I get that too but I just can't see why its taking this long I did a background check to get into nursing school. I did live scan to take the test and I wrote about what my violations were. What more do they need. I just would like to know one way or the other so I can move onward with my life. This really sucks. Anyone else out there in my situation or have some advise?

CA NCLEX-PN RESULTS
someone else said it took 5-6 months to hear anything for a traffic ticket from two years ago. I guess waiting to hear from FBI is what takes the longest. I went on their website and it says 12weeks for them to send the information to the licensing people. I don't know the wait is killing me.

LVN License Application Question
I guess I can forget about getting my 6 months of work in before starting an RN program then. This will put me a year behind my schedule if they take 5 more months to let me know. Wow sometimes I really dislike CA.
