hi molly! im also here in ontario! im also seeking for registration here.

by the way, CRNE can only be taken here in canada and it is administered 3 times/yr....:wink2:

If you go to the Canadian forum there are sticky posts with the information, I typed in google CRNE and found lots of information, the process is not instant and you must search the province you want to work in Ontario. I am American and I know this from reading the forum.

here is the link:

If would be concerned if you read the board and didn't understand the information that had been posted over and over again, how do you plan on practing nursing which is far more complex than reading this board.

CRNE is the Canadian RN exam and is the same throughout all the provinces but can only be done in Canada. If you look at the province's website where you want to live and work you will find all information regarding IEN and English is one of them and I think you will find all province's are the same. You need to start the process and depending on how quick you get your paperwork in will depend if you can sit it in Feb or not, next time after that will be June. You can get out to Canada and work before hand but if you fail the exam there may be some small issues as work permit is dependant on job

Just to make it completely clear, the CRNE is a national exam and is written in all 10 provinces on the same day, three times a year. Candidates may write the exam in any province then submit their documentation stating they've passed to the College of Nurses in the province they're planning to work in. For someone living outside the country who comes to Canada to write the exam then returns home, the time frame from writing to receiving their results can be up to three months.

your asking if there's a province in canada where you can work as an RN without taking CRNE? i don't think there is. in the philippines, its equivalent to NLE. :)

for english exam.. you need to get an average of 6.5 and 7.0 in speaking..

you said you've got 1 year experience? .. add more! serve filipinos for awhile molly.. be active with the different associations that we have - volunteer! :) that will give you a fulfillment to your profession.. besides, the longer experience that you have, the higher rate you will receive when you get to canada..

i also think that before you bombard libbie with questions.. google it first :wink2: just like what the others here have already said.. if you've already done a thorough research and still confuse.. then post it here!

best of luck!

chiLL_ouT is correct. There is no province in Canada that will allow you to work as an RN without successful completion of the CRNE and an IELTS score high enough. But be aware that volunteer experience doesn't count toward the experience requirements anywhere. That experience must be obtained through paid work in a licensed position.

oops.. got that wrong..

i mean volunteer and be active in different associations like the philippine red cross team, reach out to various shelters that we have..

isn't it a good feeling that you were able to help somehow in your own country before working abroad? .. :)

really.. it is

if you see nursing as your profession, you should be able to see it beyond the money you earn from it.. enjoy it..

think of others first - that is what nursing is all about.. after that, if you feel that you need the money for your professional growth and to support your family, then go ahead to your plans of working to prosperous countries..

you can still help in the philippines, maybe not physically but more on financial support to the shelter/s (here) close to your heart :redbeathe
