Filipino nurse registration in Texas

Published

Hi, im a newbie here, and ive been reading alot of information on how to apply for licensure in us. Texas is my preferred state to register. It says in their website that one of the requirements is CES Full education course by course report. When i log in to cgfns website, there is only 2 options, one is CES Professional report and the other is CES Academic report. Which one should i apply? Bdw, im an rn from phils. I Have other questions with the finherprinting but i need to get through first with cgfns. i've also read that to complete CES, I have to mail my high school diploma to cgfns. Thank you.

The temporary SSN is used for fingerprints for non US Students.

Are you saying you used it for getting a license in Texas?

I checked the Texas board of nursing and couldn't verify your a RN in Texas....

I emailed texas bon and here' the reply from webmaster/carl:

"We do not require the US SSN to issue a license. The applicant must use the paper version of the application and leave the SSN field blank."

Please can anyone who has experience in obtaining a license in Texas confirm if Sss is needed or not to obtain a license?

No. They will not issue a license until you have a valid SSN. No license can't work as a nurse in TX. No SSN cannot legally work in the US. You cannot work or be issued a SSN until you have permanent residency status or a valid work visa issued by USCIS. Current retrogression for EB3 visa for those born in the Philippines is approximately a 10 year wait. Only an employer can sponsor for an EB3, very few are willing to go through time & expense to sponsor for an EB3 and wait a decade for a candidate to start work

Specializes in Medical and general practice now LTC.

If that was the reply then that is the answer

The Social Security Number (SSN) provided must have been issued by the United States Social Security Administration. Canadian social insurance numbers and other numbers are not accepted. Leave this part blank if you do not have a U.S. issued social security number. Although an SSN is not required for permanent licensure in Texas, providing

information in this section WILL cause a delay in processing.

Looks like the Texas BON has had a change of policy regarding SSN.

I will do a little more research into this

Where do you wish to live and work? If TX apply to TX. If NY apply to NY

I called the Texas BON this morning and asked why they changed the policy on SSN, The person told me it was always that policy. Which I know is incorrect since I just did an application early this year for my fiancé/wife.

I told her that was not always the policy, she seems to irritate her, She said send the question to the webmaster at Texas BON, So I did and will wait the reply..

I have relatives in CA, one is a nurse and willing to help me find an employer when i pass the nclex. I cant always ask her about the process and reqts of obtaining usrn license because every state's policy are different now than what she had gone before.
