Hi! ive been reading this thread for quite a while now and i have this concern regarding canadian TWP. My husband is currently working as RN in california with a work permit valid til 2010 and he has a pending I485 or permanent residency application. since the VB has not been moving for some time now, we decided to go for canada. he applied with fraser health and had his preliminary interview yesterday. all went well except for a mention of a possible denial for TWP because of his status in the US. Has anyone had a similar situation? What are his chances in getting a TWP? Thanks!

If he has a pending 485 and allowed to work then there is no reason why he can not renew 485 when it is time (that is my understanding) I doubt that a TWP would be denied for Canada because of his status in the US. As long as he meets Canadian requirements, passes his medical (he has to have one to work in healthcare) there is no reason I see to him being refused
Hi mctina_20,
I hope you can help me. Im presently working in singapore as a nurse and i just mailed
(applied) my application to CNRBC including the fees and the required forms.
I did email them just to follow up if they have receive my application. but i dont know whats the next step to do. I have a lot of Qs like, what happens if they think i need a refresher course but so far my working experince is continous. If and when my application is granted, do I need to take the exam right away? pls help me my email add is, again i hope you could help me, thanks
They will inform you if you need to meet any requirements, they have a high workload so will need to give it time for them to assess your application. The exam can only be taken 3 times a year in Canada and if you have a employer and can get a temp license (if you need to make courses up then will not be able to get this) can come and work in Canada whilst waiting to sit CRNE
thanks a lot. i dont have any employer yet but i just tried to apply in CNRBC, i havent tried any of the employment agencies, i hope i could get a direct employer while applying to CNRBC. maybe you guys can help, any recomendations for me to apply, I would really appreciate your help.
Pls. help
