Hi everyone! Im just wondering if anyone has gone through the same situation like mine.

Here are my infos:

Passed Nclex last 2008 under CA BON:yeah:

No SSN

Applied for CES in CGFNS last 2008:up:

with Fiance Visa, going to Texas this feb 2009 and be with my lovey dovey:redbeathe

As from what I have understood in some of my readings from the other threads here,

1. I will go to immigration processes for my aos, ssn, etc.etc.

2. I can work as long as I have SSN and has the employment authorization document.

3. I will comply to Texas BNE eligibility.

4. I will apply to Texas bne for LICENSURE BY EXAMINATION and ask Ca BON to FORWARD my nclex result.

Is this correct?

Is there any other way than in nos. 3 & 4? ie. Apply to CA license and apply reciprocity to TEXAS? Which is better?

Thanks in advance!

You can start the process with Texas now, think you will need CES doing from CGFNS. Can't apply for SSN and EAD until you are married and then still takes approx 2-3 months to come through so can't work until EAD comes through. Probably looking at approx 4 months to go through the process

Also will have to wait for license from Texas to work as RN in Texas so having EAD isn't enough

I will help you on the first part, I did a Fiance Visa.

After you arrive in USA, Wait 7 days and go to any local Social Security office and apply for a SS #. Easy process and free of charge and take about 5 more days to receive SS# in mail.

After you marry, Fill out your AOS paperwork and send it in. Also apply for EAD and AP (Advance Parole - So you can leave US and re enter). EAD/AP are free with AOS application.

They usually approve EAD and AOS within 2 months with no interview.

What part of Texas are you moving too?

Thank you for the quick reply! I already have my CES-- applicant's copy-- I guess i have to go to CGFNS website and request that a copy be forwarded to texas BNE.

Is applying to TEXAS BY LICENSURE the best option? If so, then, I Have to start moving now.

Do i have to give a verification of license from the Philippines-PRC or since CGFNS has verified it, CGFNS/CES is enough?

Thank you so much!!!

If CGFNS have got verification then you shouldn't need it again. Yes you need to arrange with CGFNS to forward results to Texas and yes follow license by application and pay the fee ($60) for Ca to forward results

You are welcome

Without a SSN#, there is no way to endorse your license. And we do not have reciprocity between licenses, only the NCLEX exam has reciprocity.

Texas will not even look at your application until they receive the CES report from CGFNS.

Best of luck to you.

Im curious to know as to which is faster between reciprocity of nclex results from CA to TX thru LICENSURE by EXAMINATION and/or by endorsement from CA to TX once I got my SSN?

You still have to go thru the CES process and obtain the report before Texas will look at your application.

Time is going to be about the same.

Having just reciprocity of the NCLEX results really does not matter, it is the time that it will take Texas to do an evaluation after they receive things from CGFNS.
