FGCU Fall 2015

Published

Hello everyone ! I'm new to all nurses. I haven't seen a thread posted yet for FGCU fall 2015 so I thought I'd start one even though we still have a while until applications are due (Feb 1st). My stats are as follows: GPA 3.6, adjusted Teas 85, program percentile 90. I hear they recalculate your GPA for the nursing program so I think that my GPA may be a lot lower than that since I've retaken a few classes. I'm considering retaking the Teas to make myself a more competitive candidate just in case my GPA turns out to be a lot lower. How many of you are thinking of applying ? If so what are your stats ?

Do you know if the adjusted individual scores are comparable? The 690 percentile rank completely threw me off because it's much lower than what I thought I had scored.

If the adjusted individual scores are comparable to what?

Sorry I worded that pretty weird.. I just got off the phone with ATI who scores the TEAS exams. I told them how my scores were based on LPN and I was trying to compare with other people who had scores based on RN. They told me regardless of the program, it's the exact same test.. my percent averages are just different because of the obvious reason that I'm being compared to a different program. The lady from ATI did say though that the one thing that stays constant, regardless of which program it is, is the adjusted individual score. Just so that I get a better understanding of where I stand against everybody else it is easier for me to compare my adjusted individual score since everything else is based on a different program. I scored a 77.3% which would therefore put me in the 69th percentile giving me the 690. One last question before I end this extremely long post, I was looking on Florida golf coast frequently asked questions and for the TEAS they said the average was 77%. Are they referring to program percentile rank or adjusted individual scores? Sorry for all of the confusion and so many questions, I'm just extremely nervous now that I see my score is much lower than what I had thought.

I am guessing that the average TEAS of 77% listed under the FAQ is the program percentile rank since that is what they look at (i.e.; for you, it'd be the 690). You can always call FGCU to ask and get clarification.

Hi guys,

I asked today for an update (I couldn't resist) and was told that application decisions should be mailed out by Thursday or Friday this week. I also called my post office to check how long mail takes to arrive to me from Ft. Myers (I'm three hours directly north) and was told that a first-class letter could take up to FIVE days to get to me. I woke up feeling anxious about the decisions, but looks like we are going to have at least another solid week before we hear anything. If letters are mailed out Thursday OR Friday, that means unless you live extremely close to FGCU, we won't hear anything until next week since there's no mail on Sundays. I go out of town on my honeymoon next Wednesday, the 22nd, until May 1st, so I am hoping to hear something before then or I am going to be extremely distracted.

Thank you for the update. We should be notified by email as well. I pray the best for everyone!!!

Who told you about email notification? From what I've gathered, the only notification at all is by mail. However, I do hope that the email notification does happen!

My daughter attends FGCU and she told me email notifications are sent prior to receiving notifications through mail.

Anyone have anything to report? In theory, the letters are being mailed out either today or tomorrow.

Nope, nothing today.

I live 20 minutes away from FGCU so I am thinking I will receive a letter the day after they are sent which will hopefully be today! My mail doesn't come until 2 or 3 each afternoon. I will be sure to post if anything came today as soon as mail arrives.

I just got an email from FSU today that I have been accepted into their program, so I am very relieved. I am not sure where I will be attending (if accepted), but will make sure to keep all of you updated!
