FGCU Fall 2015

Published

Hello everyone ! I'm new to all nurses. I haven't seen a thread posted yet for FGCU fall 2015 so I thought I'd start one even though we still have a while until applications are due (Feb 1st). My stats are as follows: GPA 3.6, adjusted Teas 85, program percentile 90. I hear they recalculate your GPA for the nursing program so I think that my GPA may be a lot lower than that since I've retaken a few classes. I'm considering retaking the Teas to make myself a more competitive candidate just in case my GPA turns out to be a lot lower. How many of you are thinking of applying ? If so what are your stats ?

Hey, there! I'm also planning to applying to the FGCU BSN program to start in fall 2015 :)

I had not heard anything about your GPA being recalculated for the nursing program. Do you have any more information about that? My GPA according to Gulfline is a 3.8 and I have an 85 on the TEAS right now. However, I am planning to retake it as I think something happened with my test since I scored below the 50th percentile for math and 98th percentile or higher on everything else which dramatically hurt my score.

I spoke to someone from the nursing department and they told me that they recalculate your GPA to include all classes ever taken so that the GPA that appears on gulfline may not be accurate. If you haven't retaken any classes I don't think you would be affected.

I'm planning on applying as well. I've scheduled to take the TEAS later this month. What do you guys think my chances are of getting in with a low GPA 3.0-3.3 and an overall 90 on the teas ?

I was curious if anyone knew what percent of application decision is based on TEAS. I have a high GPA but very low TEAS due to me being a bad at standardized tests. Is it 50% GPA and 50% TEAS?

Hi guys! I am planning on applying at the BSN program for fall 2015 at FGCU. I will be taking my TEAS test soon so I hope I do pretty well on it. I am a transfer student and my current GPA IS 3.5 and I hope I get something around 80%+ overall on the test. what u thing my chances are for getting in the program? I have heard that they only accept 50 students on the program every spring out of 400 that apply. I wish all of you good luck on getting into the program.

I'm not sure how each is weighted. But the person I spoke to from the nursing department said they look at EVERYTHING. For the TEAS they look at your overall program percentile score and the program percentile for each section.

Okay thank you so much for letting me know that! My application is in so now its the waiting game ! Goodluck

Just submitted my application as well. Good luck everyone ! :)

Hey guys! Good luck!! Reading these comments definitely intimidated me. If I get into the program, I will be a transfer student from the University of South Florida. My GPA is a 3.35 and I got a 78% on the TEAS. 71 program percentile rank. Do you still think I have a chance of getting in :/ ?

I wouldn't count yourself out. It all depends on the applicant pool. I have 3.0 GPA but an 85 overall on the teas. We'll just have to wait and see. Good luck guys!
